Hal is one of the best professors I had at IU. He opens your eyes to new ideas and issues. His classes are very easy; your grade is only based on journal entries. You can get away with skipping class, but for your own education, you shouldn't because you will truly learn and expand your mind and the education is invaluable. Highly recommended!

Hal's class is by far the easiest course I've ever taken. No tests, no essays, no final. Just three journal entries a week at two points a piece. After 60 points, you've earned an A...honestly, it's college, it doesn't get much easier than that. Hal's nice, helpful, and is always ready to offer up a unique perspective. I highly recommend him.

I kept waiting for the day Hal would pick up a guitar and breaking into a chorus of Kumbaya. P202's connection to criminal justice was dubious at best. Hal is a friendly Some interesting topics were discussed, often ridiculous, but Hal is very nice and is a good professor that at least makes you think. If you don't get an A+ in this class... wow.

Hal is a great professor and i highly recommend this class. especially if you are looking for an easy A+. The only bad thing was that he capped the number of points before the last two weeks of class and that meant that I had to go to class during little 5. You still get to miss about 2 weeks of class and still get the A+

I loved loved loved Hal. I still think about the topics he discussed with us in class. All in all the class never seemed very relevant to the cjus system but in the end I realized that it did. There were no tests and you had to write a paper each week with chances of extra credit. Very easy to get an A+. TAKE IT, really!!!

Excellent professor, Very interesting topic and lots of guest speakers. He welcomes his students to completly disagree with everythign he says. He lets you write for your grade which means no tests, quizes etc. Do the journals each week and you will get an A+!

We basically learned about satanic ritual abuse, and heard alot of guest speakers. His method of grading is both easy, but also allows us to explore new topics.

Pepinsky is such a good professor. He really shows a genuine interest in his students and asks us thought provoking questions. He attends at least one of the discussion sessions and made me feel like i was an important asset to the class. Lectures always deal with a current and honest topic. The interesting material covered makes you want to attend classes.

I took this years ago...the last semester where attendance was not required and you were guaranteed an A. Apparently things have tightened up a little, but not much. The point is...you should *want* to go to this class. It is very interesting, and will challenge your preconceptions on a lot of issues. Go with an open mind.

Outstanding Professor and class. CJUS majors MUST take this class for their intensive writing section. Posqsibly the best professor at IU. Extremely interesting class & guests. The subject matter will blow your mind. It has NOTHING to do with feminism, so don't worry. :)
