Professor: Hamid Zangeneh
Department: Economics
College: Widener University, Chester, PA

Overview:

- Grade Received: WD
- Overall Rating: 1.5
- Course Difficulty: 5.0
- For Credit: Yes

Comment:
The problem with the course is how the exams are set up. 25 of the questions are worth 50 pts and 3 other questions make up the other 50. He puts the PowerPoints online which if you study those make the test easy as all the answers come directly from it. According to the school database, 60% of students who take his courses will drop the class.

Extremely boring and pretty tough but not as bad as you'd think. Just show up to class and read the text and you'll do fine. 3 tests and one term paper. If you do okay enough, show up to the last class and ask him for a C if you don't want to take the final and he should give it to you; it worked for my class and others as well.

Most people who struggle in this class don't work hard either. I read the book when I could and actually tried and got an A. It is true, he is not a good guy but if you think this class is that hard, you will have bigger problems in life. The tests were very easy and online homework was ok. You'd be better off getting a tutor than asking him.

The worst professor at Widener. He thinks that since he is the head of the economics department he can do whatever he wants. He is not clear on what is due when. He never answers his email in a timely manor. He is not very approachable at all.

Bottom line... he is matter of fact Profesor.. don't be lazy... read the text book, attend his class, listen to his lectures/feedback, and you will do fine. Unlike other professors, he will make you work for your grade. Be realistics... this is the way it should be... STUDY.. do not look for the easy way out!!

One of the worst professors I have ever had. Test are very difficult and he sometimes puts questions on the test that are different than the chapters that were suppossed to be on it. Get out before you even get in. To be perfectly honest, he makes no sense at all.

Very hard. Tests come right from the book, and you can basically ignore what he says in class. Study the book, do the problems from the book. It's still a hard class, but if he sees you geniunly try he helps you out. Really challenges you to think in class and gives you some interesting advice in classes.

Has exceptional knowledge of economics; if you try to fool him he will catch you! He is very analytical. His tests are based on the book; if you look at the homework problems, the examples in the book and the insets, the tests will look familiar. If you go to his office for help, he is very kind.
