I have taken three classes with Zorn and received an A in each of them. He is very intelligent and thoughtful. He is quite respectful of students who are humble and genuine. To succeed in his classes, take good notes and avoid sloppy arguments. He is available to help or discuss ideas of interest. Dr. Zorn is a gem on campus.

I absolutely love Dr. Zorn. He is incredibly intelligent, and he wants his students to succeed. If you slack off, then you are not going to pass. He is a tough grader, and even if you get A's he will still make you feel like you could have done better. But by then end of his course, you will be a better thinker and have a clear understanding.

Comment:
Dr. Zorn is very nice and wants his students to do well, but the material he teaches is often very abstract and it can be difficult to understand. He tries his best to help, but you'll need to put in extra work to stay on top of the material. This is definitely not the easiest INQ-270 course, but if you're interested in philosophy then take it.

Although he didn't initially catch my attention, he was interesting and had a lot of good ideas. He grades a little tough when it comes to papers, so be prepared to go to him during office hours to get him to look them over. Also, because the class I took was philosophy based, it was hard to understand the concepts, but he did his best.

He is a great teacher with a clear passion for philosophy. He is well read and is able to understand and then explain the classics. Make sure you've done the readings for class, otherwise you'll embarrass yourself.

He is a smart guy and enjoys hearing others' views on philosophical constructs. However, like any good teacher, he challenges the student to create a rational, well thought out argument. He'll help you if you ask, and he's only mean to the arrogant. He also dislikes those who talk about something that the class has nothing to do with. He is funny.

Tough teacher. I would be able to keep up with his class more if that was the only class I had to take. He goes extremely slow, and it is about mostly boring stuff so staying awake is sometimes a hastle. He grades pretty strict and if he writes on your paper, good luck reading his writing. But he is a nice guy with good intentions.

I have taken several classes with Dr. Zorn and have loved them. The secret to making a good grade is to do your reading (which is average to low for RC phil. profs.), make useful comments, ask good questions in class, and pay attention. He almost always gives essay exams and often provides study guides with everything you will need to explain.

A very harsh grader. Even when I visited him for help and asked for suggestions, he was not helpful and I always got the same grade. On the final project my group rehearsed until we almost had it memorized and he still gave us an A-, the grade I got on every single thing I turned in. Tests are difficult, and he is not a good communicator.

Very funny and nice! Class was kinda boring, but you could definitely joke around in his class. Showed Monty Python & Holy Grail 1st day of class. Easy to get along with, and great class atomosphere. Lots of reading and hard tests though.

probably the worst teacher I have ever had. Boring, hard grader, doesn't review for tests. no matter how much work I put into a test or paper I always get a C, no matter what. I would never take him for another class again.

Tough grader on papers. Class is boring if you are not into philosophy. You have to do all of the reading and take a lot of notes. Tests are challenging. Attendance is a must. Nice guy, very friendly and helpful.

Dr. Zorn is so nice. He managed to make Values pretty interesting. I took him in Summer School and did not find the class too difficult other than the large amount of reading that is required. I would recommend taking him for Values.
