Professor Wagner is like the Grandfather I wish I had. This man knows his content and his is as witty as they come. His stories regarding the class material are legit and his teaching style is easily understood. I would recommend him 100%

If you are not a computer science major then take this class. Read the chapters, get 5 chances to get an A on an open book test online, rinse and repeat. If you plan on majoring in computer science, or a related field, then don't bother. He doesn't really teach and all lectures are wild tangents about nothing. Plus if you're late thats -1%final

Comment:

Great class! Loved the personality that he shows. Very funny, and keeps your attention. Makes computers interesting, and something that I looked forward to. I read a few complaints about the attend. policy (which are lame) because how can you logically be a college student and skip class? The students that I've talked to liked his classes also.

Has an attendance policy where missing class is 1 whole percentage point off your grade. If your phone goes off or you leave class don't worry it's also 1 percentage point off your grade. Talks about himself more than actually teaching the subject. 30-45 min class periods rather than the whole 2 hours and takes off 1 percent when you don't show.

Goes off on tangents and story lines and when going over the material he just flips through the whole chapter or spends the whole class on random small topics, demands participation and jokes on students, which some may like but it's unprofessional and lazy. Obsesses over what HE finds interesting such as ethical issues but the class is pretty easy

Excellent class! Tells a lot of jokes, and cares about his students. Great class for people not sure about their major. Attend is important, and he will apply computer concepts to class discussions. Computer ethics is a component, and it was ironic that he caught a student cheating in our class. How flat out dumb can a person be!

Never skip, do your homework, don't be stupid, and you will have a great time with this teacher. People stated he 'picks on students'? Blasphemy, as long as you understand basic socializing with other humans you will understand this man's great sense of humor. I wish other teachers could learn from Mr. Wagner, such a great teacher, very realistic.

Dan wagner is a terrible teacher. Dont take his class. He picks on people in front of class and thinks its funny. His lectures are basicly ethical and you learn nothing about computers . If he doesnt like you he will find a way to fail you or make you drop. oh and dont go to bathroom ,throw anything away or look at your phone for a second.

His class is tough, but he is not. Him and I messed with each other on a daily basis. His attendance policy is kind of lame, but he cares so much for his students, and even helped me out with some personal issues. TAKE HIS CLASS SERIOUSLY THOUGH!

Wouldn't take him again if you payed me. Being that his knowledge can be dated at times, he's not for a CIS major. He loves obsessing over ethics rather than teaching practical computer topics from the book. Attendance is MANDATORY and NO phones or going to the bathroom... he'll dock final grade points. Only nice thing; he frontloads the semester.

Whether you're going into this field or not, this class is incredibly easy. Everything you learn the first half of the class will come from the book, and the second half you'll learn a few things outside the book. Just show up, complete the work, and you'll get an A

I wouldn't recommend this teacher to any one that actually wants to learn something about computers. I've learned nothing so far. He lectures about things that are irrelevant to the course. The work itself is very easy but doesn't relate to computers what so ever. He also picks on people and thinks it's funny. Don't waste your time.

Professor Wagner, is easy grader and easy assignments, attendance is mandatory but you get points off if you get up or use the bathroom; his lectures most of the time have nothing to do with the class, not a class for CIS majors! Easy grade! Both of book are needed to pass!

As a CIS major I find that I learned nothing from this class and that most of the assignments have nothing to do with the material mentioned in the syllabus. If you're lazy and you want to take an easy class, take him. Didn't learn anything but sure did pass with an A. But if you are a CIS major and you actually wanna learn and get a decent education, I advise you not to take him. You will regret it.

Mr. Wagner is a great professor. I personally hate computer science, but he made the class very easy for me. Attendance is mandatory since a lot of the assignments are online. He is quick grader, also once you are done with all your assignments you do not have to attend again!

Loved him. Fantastic class and very interesting person. Made the class fun and I always looked forward to coming to class! The student making the repeated poor evals stated that they lost points off the final..... the post was made 41715, A MONTH BEFORE FINALS! The student isn't very smart, and has little class. Take Prof Wagner if you can!

I agree! The class was FUN! Attendance IS important, but some students never come, and then are dumb enough to wonder why they get bad grades..... Come to class, do the work, study and you'll be fine. Wagner cares, and is ALWAYS in class early and he will talk to you if you go to him. He teases everybody in a good way.

Prof Wagner was GREAT! Very helpful and kept the class that had a boring topic very interesting! Brings in a load of real life experiences to help explain topics in the book. TAKE HIM HES GREAT! I just read the last several posts and it struck me that they were written by the same student! Looks like that student just couldnt hack the course.
