Hava is one of the most renowned individuals in the entire field of AI, but this is the worst course I've ever taken at UMass. Lectures are a joke. She takes slideshows from other universities and doesn't seem to follow any sort of curriculum. We had a total of THREE assignments in this class. She skips class often and doesn't inform the TA. AVOID

I don't know WHAT you are all talking about. Hava is an AWESOME teacher! The only reason she answers her cell phone is because she has a very sick child. I've never learned so much in a class. As a comparison, the other section of 311 got an average of 34 on the same midterm we got an average of 80

Very helpful if you actually go to class. The course is one of the most difficult I've taken but she explained things well enough. Did answer her cell phone, but so would you if your child was in the hospital. Overall, good prof for this class.
