Lots of reading. Wastes about 10-15 minutes in the beginning of the class talking about her personal life and situations through out her week. Projects are easy, but the quizzes are hard. True or False questions that could be anything of random in the reading. Most students ended up cheating after the first 2 quizzes. Didn't learn much.

I really like Professor Fang. I feel she is very committed to students learning, and is a very good professor. She draws out and challenges the students, she gets the class to really come together as a group. This is a good thing. I am completely shocked by the comments that have been added about her in this site recently. They are just false.

She is good as a counselor but an instructor, not at all. Her lectures did not pertain to the quizzes or exams. She didn't even have review sessions for midterms or final. She is lenient with her students. She allows make up exams and quizzes. Go to class, do the projects, extra credit, and sit near the front so she knows your name. You'll get an A

LOL, reading all these comments captures the gestalt of taking a class from Dr Fan. There's nothing to add or take away from what everyone else has said, except to say that I found the organization of the class to be somewhat haphazard -- a lot of hand-outs to keep track of that really slowed down our progress through the text.

Was a very good Teacher. Very nice and helpful. Also a very underrated teacher. People get scared about their grades because she never tells you them. I had a C going into the final and I got an A. If she likes you, you will do fine. Don't miss class and pay attention.

Easy teacher, gives study guidelines for the mid term and final, so basically you just have to find out all the answers from the textbook,if u can coz its really hard to find, and memorize it for the test. Attendance is super mandatory, you just have to bear sitting in the class trying not to fall asleep as you listen to her talking dunno what.

Mrs Fan impressed me very much. Though I am not her student now I still remeber her. Her lecture is attractive and full of deep emotion. Her lecture is easy to understand and the examination is much easier to pass.It's easier to getan A in her class though the student has some trouble in understanding in English.Strongly recommend!!

dear lord she is crazy. For your own sanity do not take her! She loves her opinions and brushes you off when you try to add something. Interupts students durring presentations to ask about tangents then yells at them for talking too much. Asked the class how old they where when they lost their virginity and if we where abused by our parents.

I DO NOT recomend this teacher. She has strong Chinese accent which sometimes makes students confused. Her lecture is hella boring and you won't have anything you can learn from her class. Tests are basically not from her lecture, so you need to read the huge amount of pages for the tests. There are Many better teachers for ICS. DO NOT TAKE HER!!!

OK, language class is supposed to go slower. BUT, she is not even getting to the points! She wastes at least 30mins talking abt the articles she read. Then, at the end of the quarter, she rushes to finish the class. Makes No Sense Man!!! She does not even follow De Anza's final schedule...she has her OWN Rules =.= Gosh, I will never take it again.

She was way boring, and when the class zones out she yells, "hello?!" at everyone. We started counting and she would say it at least 20 times per class. She doesn't lecture on the material meaning the tests have nothing to do with the class time. She is an easy A but very boring.

She is a very nice lady and has so much passion in what she talks about. She really knows what she is saying and taught us some really interesting things about other cultures. Not too much class work either. If you have to take an ICS class, take her.
