Comment:

Professor Laird is the most unhelpful professor that I have ever had. She always gave an ambiguous answer to any of my questions, and never posted grades. She did not give clear grading scales, so it was always hard to gauge how well you did on an assignment. Do not take Major British Writers II from her, you will regret it.

She's really sweet and doesn't want to upset anyone. Make sure to talk to her if you have a problem with your grade. She will work it out with you. If you care at all about becoming a better thinker and writer, Professor Laird will truly challenge you. Do not take her classes if you you cannot handle occasional ambiguity. She is also subtly funny (pay close attention), and extremely helpful and supportive.

Dr. Laird is an amazing professor. Intelligent, kind, and courteous. She is willing to assist and advise in any way. Incredibly available to her students. And very passionate about her work, she is able to pass that passion on to her students. She expects the best and as a result tends to grade hard, however she is willing to work with you.

I must heartily disagree with the other postings here. Dr. Laird is an amazing, intelligent instructor. Yes, she is tough, but she is more than willing to meet with the students and explain difficult concepts/assignments. My only regret is that I graduated before I could take her theory class.
