I LOVED this class & I learned so much! Her lectures can be boring, mandatory attendance, and no laptops/electronics allowed. Lots of reading, quiz every week, 3 mini assignments, 1 final paper. Most of the readings are posted on BB & I didn't buy any of the books and I found all the readings online. She's a great professor and cares about teaching

She's amazing, sweet, and really personable. She is not afraid to laugh at herself and is very lenient as long as you keep her in the loop of whats going on with you. Her material was awesome, I use it for many of my other classes, and she makes everything so interesting!

definately take her if you want an easy A. my class persuaded her to bring down the readings for further clases. shes easy to talk to and she truly cares about you. i went through the whole semester with out buying any books for her class and she gives sooo much extra credit. although you do have to attend class.

i loved professor lara. don't listen to the negative things people say. i do admit there was a lot of work involved, but she is understanding and easy to persuade, however you have to do it as a class and not alone. there is extra credit and you can b.s. your way through practically all the stuff, especially the oral report because it's your story!

Class is called "Women of color" but might as well be a Chicana Studies Class! We only talked about Mexicans mostly...makes you do SOOO much reading and NOTES that you have to turn in on all the readings, 5 books assigned, way too much work for a GE and not helpful or organized. Rude as well. Don't take this class!

This was her first time teaching Women of Color and at first the coursework was completely overwhelming. But since she is very open to class opinion, we were able to balance out the reading and writing workload. I learned a lot. I am a woman studies major, so this is an area of interest to me. Great class if you're open to be challenged to new idea

This class was the biggest waste of my time! If you are interested in listening to a bunch of feminists gripe about all the problems in the world, then it's the class for you. If not, steer clear! The teacher is totally over the top in forcing you to participate. We had to sit in a circle every class, and it felt like i was in group therapy!

Disregard negative comments! Her syllabus is 15 pages long b/c she explains EVERYTHING...you leave having no questions. 6 easy open book quizes, 5-page midterm and final paper. All very easy..basically your opinion with a 3 citations from class reader and your own. Amazing class discussions on controversial/taboo issues.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS CLASS!! The subject matter sounds interesting the first day you get to class, but once you see how the professor operates, you'll want to run away as fast as you can! For a 300-level class she requires way too much work and she has no trust for her students..so dont bring a laptop to class -she will assume you're surfing the net
