McGowan is the man! He is a genuine prof with a passion for teaching. Exams were easy and he gives you all the tools you need to pass. He always ended class super early and likes to crack jokes a lot. He's a cool guy I highly recommend.

Professor McGowan is an amazing professor. He is funny yet he manages to explain complicated material in a very manageable manner. If you are not a science major you will need to study quite a lot because the exams are hard as hell (hardest I ever had) but the curve is amazing. I Highly recommend to take him for this class

This guy knows his stuff but he's pretty hilarious in lectures (which is a good thing at 7 pm). Don't buy the book. And expect to laugh a few times during exam time - his exams are multiple choice and sometimes have funny answer options. Exams are tricky though and he'll sometimes tell you what to write down so attendance is mandatory.

He really knows his stuff & can answer almost any question. He prods the class to think about everyday things-I don't take anything for granted anymore! Best reason to go to class is he is hot Hot HOT and absolutely oozes confidence-without being arrogant (with some pretend arrogance). He's also funny-most nights funnier than the Stress Factory.

Okay so he is a pretty good professor but the material is hard so if you miss any classes then you're pretty much screwed. He is funny and cute and def helps make the class not as boring. I really enjoyed his class. The material was not easy, and he definitely made his exams tricky on purpose. The material was interesting though and there was a huge curve so a good grade is easily possible. Also, he made class really entertaining. I would highly recommend taking this course with him!

Hard Class for a psychology class (Tricky questions not the material). Dont buy textbook. Use that money to buy first class notes and ace the final and midterm. Huge curve. >75 A. Keeps you awake in class with random jokes. Also 4 or 5 classes canceled. Easy A for any CBN major after you take fundamentals of neurobiology

Dr. McGowan is an excellent professor. He is funny as hell and is awesome at explaining very complicated material. He comes off as a hard-ass at first, but he is willing to help and knows his stuff. The book is not really necessary, sometimes it helps, but his notes are better. Go to class, although attendance isn't mandatory and take good notes!

ohhhh I love his class... he's funny and interested in the material and hes just a really smart guy.. he answers any questions... he stays after to answer questions.. book isn't required but i got it and it's been helpful but yeah, not essential.. and hes cute too :)

Very intense speaking ability this guy has but great professor, crystal clear in how he teaches, don't buy book just make sure you go to every class even though attendance isn't required, 2 tests are straight from class, funny at times too just because he tries to act miserable and mean even though he isn't

But it really isn't and the curve is huge so believe me you'll windup doing fine as long as you took down the notes. Text is useless and he willtell you that none of the test comes from the text.

Great professor [he reminds me of House, MD-humor!], don't buy the book, GO TO EVERY CLASS! He says these one-sentence lines that sometimes end up on the exam. Study the practice exams & take THOROUGH notes! Notes/exams change every semester. His tests are like medical school exams, BUT good curve if you have any idea of what you are doing.

This guy is GREAT. I took physio, and this class is supposed to be similar, but he is SO much better. Basiclly, he describes everything in clear terms that you can understand. He doesn't ramble on, but builds a clear picture of the material. He generates a lot of intrest in the subject, and is really quite funny. Class is a lot of fun.

If you are engineering or computer science, this class is for you. He teaches from the scientific and practical point of view, so you don't learn any **** "theories" that can't be backed up with evidence. What you do learn is how psychological FACTS can be applied to image/audio compression, human-machine interaction, etc. And it's REALLY easy.

EXCELLENT doesn't do the guy any justice.. he was beyond words. So engaging with his humor (it was the best I've EVER come across). Provided us with details and broad concepts..
