I took her for Social Philosophy of Art. The class had amazing readings that were super interesting and class discussion is what she stresses. However even though there's the word philosophy in the class, that doesnt mean write what you think. she just wants to make sure you retained what the writers of the essay are trying to say.hard but worth it

interesting subject matter and moderate homework assignments. but we were assigned a long research paper with an unreasonable 3 week deadline. it's like this is the only class she thinks matters. most of us have more classes that need to be taken care of above all.

Those who rated Jasminka low are probably looking for an easy-A class like many critical studies at MassArt are. Her classes are challenging, yes, but such a class must be to tackle the intellectually complex subject matter.

Took her "Race, Class and Gender in Hollywood Film" and "Philosophy of Art". True, she does not care about endearing herself to you. The only way to her heart (and good grade) is being interested and serious about the course material, and participating in class. I still have the readings she gave and refer back to them. Recommended.

Having Jasminka as a professor was an absolutely terrifying expirence! She was cold and snobby. There is absolutely no structure to the class, because she is very disorganized. But most importantly I was very disappointed with her rude behavior.

Terrible professor. Does not provide students with grades based on actual assignments and intimidates them to the point that mandatory class participation is an absolutely terrifying experience. Extremely rude and short with students, belittles them, and her makes class an unbearable experience.

The worst teacher i've ever had. She won't teach you anything and will then make you write papers on topics that are far beyond your understanding. She gives no grades on anything and your final grade seems to be totally based on her personal opinion of you. When you ask for help, she doesn't really answer your questions and if you question. Awful.

Jasminka is a really enlightened and bright woman. Taking her 'Truth and Value' class in which we read many different perspectives on for some people really 'out there' concepts was amazing. Some people just could not wrap their head around it yet. That is fine too. For me, it was great.

Here's the problem...teaching pyschology is never easy. But teaching it with twenty page long scientific reports written by scientists and not necessarily writers is a bad idea. Also, no real life applications were made on her part, although students were able to do it. Also I don't think she hears to well, which makes the language barrier that much worse. Not that I have a problem with that, it's just very difficult to communicate in a class that is based on clarity of ideas.
