Comment:

Worst class that I've taken at UWG. Lectures are boring and even when I copy down all notes and study, I fail the tests. Offers a lots of extra credit, but he's very picky with it and you don't actually see the points because he doesn't post ANY grades until the end of the semester. Attend SI, and do the extra credit if u want a chance of passing.

Comment:

Relies on exams and quizzes as the only form of actual grades. You have extra credit, but it only benifits you thankfully. He curves tests, no one in my class made higher than an 15 on his tests. Be prepared to not know your grade until the end of the semester, because he NEVER uploads grades or tells you what your grade in the class is.

TAKE NOTES!!! Do NOT use a phone in his class, he will kick you out! Hard test, but usually a curve. DO ALL OF THE EXTRA CREDIT!! Everything has to be hand written, nothing typed!

I really don't recommend. Do not take him unless for some reason you absolutely have to. He is very disrespectful. Do as many extra credits as possible and go to class, doing that could possibly raise you as many as 2 letter grades.

I found this class extremely boring because of his lectures. If you want to pass, you're going to need to read the textbook at home so you can actually understand the material. The material is actually interesting it's just his teaching method is terrible. He does offer a ton of extra credit, but it doesn't really help you understand the material.

Professor Hasbun's class was very difficult for me. I went to almost all of the SI sessions and they really helped me! You have to work hard for an A in this class, however, Professor Hasbun is willing to work with you if you want a good grade and you are are willing to put in the work.

He isn't the best professor but he isn't horrible. He gives out a ton of extra credit and curves all his test. He goes through the power points very fast but if you actually read the chapters you will be fine. I failed a 3 of the 4 test and still came out the class with a B. If you go to his office he will help you.

Horrible. Rude. Doesn't know how to explain things to students. His favorite explanation was "It's common sense!" Worked problems wrong and then yelled at the class because we didn't correct him. He was thrown into our class mid-semester due to a scheduling issue and the class went from 23 students to 4. Had to Withdraw, no refund.

Comment:

The content is a lot of fun, but Prof Hasbun's grading criteria is a bit ridiculous. Sources have to be cited for everything (including the textbook!) and everything must be stapled. He gives a lot of extra credit to offset the difficulty of his tests, though, but the responsibility is all on you to teach yourself most of the content.

He gives a ton of extra credit and if you do it all you could fail all of the tests and still pass the class. I finished with a B but it was the hardest class EVER! He was rude and not helpful very helpful. No one understands his grading system but it seems to be fair when calculating your final grade. No clue how I pulled a B out of this class!

I would say to take someone else or chose another science. If you must take this then take really good notes and read the whole book and do every extra credit he gives. This class is not easy at all and the only thing that helped me was the extra credit. Super hard tests and he goes quick on the power points. The study guides don't really help.

Comment:

Professor Hashun is a very nice man who is passionate about astronomy. Unfortunately that does not transfer over well into a freshman/lower level course. He teaches the class at a pretty fast pace. His test are tough as hell and reading the chapters are a must. He curves every exam and gives out tons of extra credit.

Gives tons of extra credit but does not count unless you come to class. His tests are really nothing like the lectures... look at the uploads on courseden and quizlet for help. Lectures last the entire class. Will kick you out if on cell phone (so don't try). If you work hard, you will pass

Very tough! Tests are terrible so you have to study! Do every extra credit offered if you want to pass. Attendance is extra credit but not mandatory. He is sometimes hard to understand. I would not recommend taking his class.

Comment:

He puts study guides on course den, look for them and used them, they will help. His tests are just like the study guides. He gives out so much extra credit, you will have at least one every lecture. (There has been a few times he's given 5 in one lecture.) He's hard to understand sometimes and goes off subject a lot, but the class is pretty easy.
