Dr. Schatz is a great professor who really cares about his students. He really wants his students to do well. 4 overall test but he drops the lowest one meaning the final is optional. He posts lectures online and gives a study guide for each test. Would highly recommend!

Dr. Schatz is such a nice person and is really knowledgeable about psychology. He records his lectures and posts them online, posts his powerpoints, and makes a study guide for every test. He even puts the corresponding question from the study guide in the footnotes of the powerpoint. He genuinely wants his students to do well. Great guy.

You're going to need the textbook, as the readings help with understanding lecture material. He has study guides for all of his exams. His exams were straight-forward, no tricks, and all multiple choice. Attendance is mandatory, but you get points towards your grade for it. Study and you'll do fine! Overall, would recommend Dr. Schatz!

Very lecture heavy. You miss class, you're missing a lot. The test are pretty difficult--they seem to be vague or he'll change up some words to trip you up. I've never had as much trouble in a psychology class before taking him, but I appreciated the challenge. Lectures can be a bit bland honestly, but he knows what he's talking about.

Dr. Schatz class is lecture heavy so you have to go to class. There are 3 exams and the final is optional but if taken, will replace your lowest exam grade. He can be a little bland while lecturing but seems to really know his stuff. Tests are difficult and you definitely need to study. No homework, just 2 reaction papers. Would take again!

I was initially wary of taking this class b/c I am a freshman & it is an upper level course, but Jeff is awesome. He knows what he is talking about (tho he can go off on tangents in lectures), gives study guides for the exams as soon as he begins a section that is almost exactly what's on them & posts lectures online, but going to class will help

I took this class as an elective. I am interested in the material, but sometimes Prof. Schatz rambles on about stuff I don't understand. He posts study guides for the exams (although they are a bit hard to understand) and he curves all grades based on the highest score in the class. Attendance policy is flexible. I might have picked a different elective but overall this class isn't that hard. Prof. schatz is a straightforward guy, he just sometimes gets carried away in his lectures.

He's great, very obvious he enjoys the material and wants to teach. Posts a study guide for each exam which are exactly what the tests will cover. Attendance is mandatory, but he's a pretty funny guy so I didn't mind going. You can exempt the final if you are happy with your grade.

schatz is nice but his classes arent the most interesting. class isnt mandatory but he randomly takes attendance and you get points for being there. his exams cover alot of material so you cant wait until the last minute to study. the book is very useful for studying.

You can tell that he enjoys the subject of psychology, but he made abnormal psych the most boring class i have ever taken. It was very difficult to pay attention due to his inability to teach clearly and engage the class.

I thought abnormal was going to be fun, he made it extremely boring. His tests are all multiple choice and pretty easy, he gives a study guide before each test so if you study that you will do fine. The book is helpful but its not mandatory, I would recommend getting it.

I feel bad saying this bc he's a really nice guy, but I thought he was one of the most boring prof. I've ever had and his exams weren't easy at all. One day we had one of his TA's come in and teach and suddenly all the material made sense but I hoenstly think he's too smart of a guy to be a teacher. I just couldn't understand him at all.

Dr. Schatz is an ok professor. Class was sometimes interesting but material is mostly boring. Tests vary in difficulty. Take notes while he's lecturing, for that stuff will be on the test. I made a B+ in the class and never bought the textboook.

This professor isn't hard, and he isn't easy. He kinda sits right in the middle. But his notes are more important than reading the book. He does 3 tests and a final, and some other work thoughtout the semester to help keep your grade in good standing.

Lectures and confusing. Doesn't like to answer questions and if he does, he does so without clarity. Will not return email. Tests were hard (did not follow lectures or text). Overall, learned very little.
