She was very clear with what she expected out of us on the first day of class. She was always available to chat with and was very approachable. If you handle your business in her class, you'll do fine. I would recommend her. In fact, I'm going to try and take her again for other classes.

Very approachable, self-effacing, and not intimidating at all. I found her to be a flexible, generous grader, too. I chose Hist. 122 because I absolutely needed it, not because I was interested in the Renaissance. However, Don made this course engaging enough. You watch several videos, read one small textbook, and participate in several seminars.

OK.I can say I did learn from Professor Don; However, she needs to change the attitude she taught the class with. She seemed to show interest on some students on top of others. Ethics are not her strenght. Fair grader. somewhat helpful: when in a good mood. probably won't take her again.

Hard grader. Frustrating to be in her class because you will say something, she will reword it completely, and then say something like, "was that what you meant?" Mispronounced our names and didn't seem to care. Changed her mind a lot about dates and how to turn things in. Overall, very hard class, frustrating teacher.

Tough but fair. She will do everything she can to help you with your writing. Although I must admit the class had it's bumps since it was a pilot class. Overall, Professor Don is the perfect teacher for this course.

Prof. Don, with her previous experience teaching high school, is one of the few real INSTRUCTORS at SJSU, rather than a lecturer. She chooses texts for their future usefulness. She gives guidelines for reading, and facilitates discussions. I was in 2 of her grad classes.

I had Prof. Don for social studies methods several years ago. I have a great deal of respect for her---she is knowledgeable and rigid. I'm a high-school teacher and I can more closely relate to her style. She comes across as very tough but actually is a pretty liberal grader. Very helpful!
