Comment:

I took Jessica Gisclair for Media Law & Ethics which is one of the hardest courses at Elon. She did the best she could but the biggest issue I had was that she doesnt give extra credit because "It is not advantageous to give extra work if you cannot complete the work already" Work load isnt the issue its the comprehension of the material thats hard

Comment:

Media Law is hands down the hardest class I will take. Gisclair is super hard HOWEVER, she makes the material fun and interesting, is a teacher who actually cares about the well being of her students and has a great personality. Took her media law class at 8am and would do it over again for sure! Just be ready to work hard.

Hands down the hardest class I have taken at Elon. Be ready to intake a ton of information. The tests are tough and require remembering a ton of nitty-gritty details. With all that being said, she is an awesome person and is ALWAYS available to meet outside of class.

Dr. Gisclair is great. She knows a lot about the subject and makes class interesting. Always willing to help you when you ask. Media Law is hard, but she doesn't make it any harder than it needs to be. She can't be anymore straight forward about what she expects. Also, she can be pretty funny. I really enjoyed her class.

She's extremely nice and can hold an engaging lecture, but sometimes the notes are a bit scattered. And a hard grader!! I study for 10 hours each test and can't break an 84%.

I have her for media law. The class has a lot of information but it's do-able and she makes it very interesting. She is one of the best professors I have ever had at Elon - very nice, helpful, excited about the material, and easy to pay attention to..... the tests are challenging but if you study you will be fine. GREAT TEACHER!!

Dr. Gisclair is a great teacher and a great person. She loves public relations and her students. She has high standards and will challenge you, leaving you ready to face the "real world". If you don't feel like trying in her class, don't insult her by taking it.

Great class- Partner and Group work varies depending on who you are paired with. Gisclair knows the subject and has real-world experience in it. I plan on taking her again for Media Law, not b/c she is easy, but b/c she can teach and you will learn a lot. I have an internship right now and the techniques taught in class are really paying off.

she will go out of her way to make sure that you succeed. her standards are high, but she is willing to put in the effort to help her students meet those standards. her multiple choice is impossible but she build in assignments to help you gain points. she is very fair and very approachable, absolutely take her senior sem.

I really liked her. She really teaches from reality and teaches you the things you need to know to go into the field. It's not just learing about PR.. she caters to preparing us for actual jobs in it. You do a campaign in a group for a client on or around campus that lasts pretty much the whole semester, but it's great for the portfolio.

Ultra-intelligent, but in a good way. She actually wants the best for her students and will assist whenever possible, in and and out class, but she does have high standards. Even though I am normally a slacker, I did my best work because this is a teacher who inspires her students naturally, encouraging them to do their best. This topic is awesome.

She is well informed with the subject. Expects alot from the students, and can be a hard grader, but she will allow you to rewrite poor assignments on occasion, which helps boost your grade. I recommend taking one of her courses because she is well organized and knows how to relate things in students' words.
