She encourages you to think deeply about the topic covered in class, sometimes inspirational. Quizzes, discussion, and summaries are easy. Midterms and final are somewhat hard and requires long time to review. It's also hard to get full credit on lab reports. However, she offers extra credit (10%), so take advantage of it. Recommended!!

She is a very good instructor, not extremely friendly but a very good lecturer, very good lecture notes, very hard subject, she does a very good job at explaining very hard concepts. I enjoyed her class very much.

To be honest, Professor Quan was a really nice teacher. She is knowledgeable and helpful to students in need. All you need to do is keep asking her questions. My class is a hybrid class so my time is extremely flexible and her workload is fairly light. She would prepare us for the tests so pay attention in class would make the test very easy.

Professor Quan was picky on lab reports. Make sure to complete all the extra credits, this helps you a lot to level up one grade.

So this is for those who have to take her and are nervous about it. Her class is indeed passable but you have to WORK for it. Seriously do not slack off. Do the homework, watch the videos, do the extra credits, and study like crazy for the tests (They are indeed difficult, I would spend maybe 4+ hours for each test). Do the above and you'll be fine

i did very bad in the class, but because it is physics and not really the professors fault. She explains at the beginning you may want to drop if you can't handle a class with lecture online, and it is true. I thought I could handle it, but physicists are smart for a reason, this class is tough, and you better make the effort on your own 4 hybrid

She doesn't teach at all... goes on and on about NASA. If you don't do the extra credit it lowers your grade. Her exams are ridiculously hard, many did not pass.

Sad thing is that students have complained to Douglas but the whole dept doesn't care how rude and inefficient she is as profes. and a human being in general. Douglas ACTS like he cares just like she pretends to be a teacher. she won't help you at all, avoid her. go to GCC/Elac or something for physics. it's that bad. Pcc NOT #1 for educ in physics

She expects a lot from students but not much can be expected from her. During lab, she's almost never there, leaving students to figure out things on there own. She doesn't have patience to explain things. Her physics class is online (except lab) with recycled YouTube videos from many years ago. Some of the videos are another professor's.

I did not listen to other comments and I regret so much. She is rude, harsh and picky on lab report, do mostly deriving formular but not the typical problem we need to deal with. I jave the feeing she doesnt like teaching. Have extra credit but those are not enough for the level of hardness in her test. She makes me feel i am useless and nonesense.

The lab/ lab reports and online portions of the class were easy, however her tests were tough. Fortunately, she provided a lot of study materials online, had extra credit, and was always willing to help before and during class. As long as you are willing to put in the effort and try, you'll be fine. Make sure to practice a lot for the tests!

I would not recommend her in general, but it seems she does better in the non-1ABC series. This is because she does not like to teach - hence her preference for hybrid classes. If you want someone who is critically harsh, does not want to help you learn, rude, and ineffective, then this is the "teacher" for you! Otherwise, I would not recommend.

Physical science 3 is meant for future elementary school teachers so it's broad. Hw for every chapter, 5 discussion posts, 5 quizzes, 1 final, 1 paper. Easy assignments but quizzes can be challenging. Cons: unclear and disorganized, due dates listed differently on each page. Pros: responded to emails quickly, gives A LOT of extra credit.

Tests are really tough!! Lots of busy work & you must do video check-in w your ID on some testsquizzesFinal ! Beware: most of the questions on tests are not found in book... lots of math equations on tests. This class was a pain !! The good thing is that there is lots of extra credit to raise your grade :) Do it all !!

She rarely replies emails, and tests are not easy. Extra credits are very important for this class. Make sure you do them. Be ready to study hard and review well before the tests. And don't give up easily. She is a very tough grader and try not to make silly mistakes like having sig figs or missing units. She will deduct points from these.

I took her Physics 1A Hybrid class, and it was so tough that I decided to withdraw. Probably like 90% of my classmates withdrew too. In my opinion, the class wasn't easy because it's hybrid. I had to spend so much time at home studying, trying to understand the concepts by myself. The exams and quizzes are hard. DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS! DON'T TAKE IT

My advice is to just do the extra credit she assigns. It basically bumps you up one letter grade if you do it. 2 midterms 1 final, 15%15%20%. You probably need to average 70%-80% on the 3 tests in order to get an A (which is 88-90% most of the time). Study for every test and don' underestimate the class. She finds a way to ask hard questions.
