He is very kind and hilarious professor. Tests based on his note and book. He give half of the answer from his review question. His note will be true or false question. It is an easy class to get 4.0. He give extra credit for the entire class.

3 tests including final. Multiple choice. Tests are 1/2 lecture material, 1/2 textbook material. Textbook material will not be covered in class, but is brief, and a very clear study guide is provided. During lecture he will tie the material to current events, then write exactly what you need to know from lecture on the board. Just copy it down.

If you want an easy 4.0 this is the class to take. sit for an hour of lecture writing notes and you will earn a 4.0 since he gives half of the answers.

I hate political science anyways, but taking it with Dr. Othman was the most boring class I've ever taken. I took his 11am class, which was the worst choice because he spends the first twenty minutes lecturing in a thick accent. The last forty minutes turn into you taking your notes as he slowly writes giant paragraphs on the board.

Literally go to class just to sign in for attendance points & take note that he silently write on board in for 40 minutes most days and then read what he wrote. His hearing problem makes me hesitant to ask questions during class because he will make you repeat it multiple times.

All you do is copy notes, listen to his bad jokesstories, and listen to him complain about people turning the pages in their notebooks too loudly. He hand writes his notes he has printed out instead of using the projector, so a class that could've been done entirely online in 5 minutes takes 50 3 tests, all very easy

His lectures are very clear and straight-forward. His tests are very easy to pass as long as you complete the study guide he gives to students before each exam. He is a great person and is very friendly.

Dr. Othman is the nicest person that you will ever meet. He is very humane and kind, if you are not rude! In fact, all you need in this class is just copy material from the board and prepare for your test using those notes. Easiest class!

Can't remember the course & section code, sorry. I took at least 2 classes with Jihad in 1975-76, a Poli-Sci of the Soviet Union, when there was a USSR and the same for the Peoples Republic of China. It was an enjoyable class. It was more history than poli-Sci but we covered a lot of ground. I considered Jihad an experienced teacher and a friend.

Dr.Othman is he*la funny! I am taking him right now and my final is tomorrow. Not worried at all about it! His test are worth 100 points. 50 multiple choice questions which are the same questions in a packet you by per chapters, and 50 true and false questions. Attendance is worth 2 points per day. Like what every one else said, DON'T BE LATE!

Just take notes in class every day, you get 25%. Memorize all of them, you get another 37.5%. Finish 100 multiple choice questions for every test, you get the rest. He is a very nice teacher. Sometimes hilarious.

i myself am now a professor in NYC, but many moons ago I took a class with Dr Othman to fulfill an undergrad requirement. Dr Othman is a seasoned thinker, but it seems he often has to teach low-level surveys that dont allow his full brilliance to show through. ask him about his dad, who fought in the Palestinian resistance against the brit empire!

Ba ha ha! Dr. Othman is hilarious. Don't come late. "You know, you late. You need to be on time. You cannot show up like the moon, once a month. We cannot ruin it for everybody else, just for his or her majesty . . ."
