Really easy if you put in the work. Kinda have to teach yourself everything, but she's super great with office hours where she will clearly explain material and answer questions.

Joanna really cares about her students. I had around a 76 before the final, bombed the final and still passed with a low B. (The final was SO HARD even tho you can bring 2 double sided sheets of notes). Always do homework and quizzes on time and participate heavily. Ask questions and try to answer some and she'll likely pass you.

She knows the material very well, but has an accent that can be hard to understand at times (Which she is aware of and she tries to be as clear as possible). The discussions help to make the material more clear, and there are weekly short quizzes in the discussions. She says 20-30% of the class gets an A every semester, but it will require work.

I skipped half these classes because honestly the lecture kind of sucked and I could never pay attention but if you want better than a B+ then go to the lectures. My discussion TA was awesome so everytime I went to a discussion I learned everything I needed. There are quizzes in discussion but they aren't bad theres 6 total . Overall not the worst

Joanna's amazing. I had taken a similar class to this one before and I barely picked up anything; Joanna actually taught stats in a way that makes sense. Not a super easy class, but you can do well if you put a little effort in.

STat 501 - it is an upper level class. It should go relatively fast . I learned so much in this class and most of all I have a good paid job . Definitely it is worth to take. Thanks Joanna .

She's an icon. She's a funny lady with a Polish accent and stylish outfits. Attendance is optional so I almost never went to lecture, i learned everything in discussion and did great. She tells you to read to book but don't. Tests are easy enough if you study. Some online homeworks, and a few quizzes in discussion. Very low-maintenance class

Doesn't set up the class very well. The lectures are not very engaging, but the class is pretty straightforward material-wise.

She moves way too quickly through the material. She lectures nonstop during the class and doesn't give the opportunity to actually work through what you are learning. The exams are hard and the homework is hard. Not recommended for someone who has no statistics background.

Joanna assumes everyone in the class has already taken stats and thus moves way too fast. I was lost in the first lecture and she is very difficult to understand. Definitely take RES-ECON 212 if you can instead.

Not as hard of a class as I'd heard it would be. Took it as a prereq to get into Isenberg. Lectures not mandatory, but very helpful if you can get past the accent (it's not bad tbh). Her exams were pretty easy, but the final was tricky. Got 90+ in all exams, but a 78 on her final. Definitely wasn't a class I could slack off in, but it wasn't awful.

Joanna can be tough but she really cares about her student's ability to really understand and even master the material. That being said, you get out what you put in. It wont be an easy A but if you work with her during office hours and go over the slides outside AND in class, you'll be fine.

Joanna is a great professor, go to class and you will do well. The two midterms were easier than the final, so make sure to study extra hard for the final. Also, attending office hours is helpful because she notices and may bump you up if you're right on the cutoff. Also make sure to take advantage of the extra credit opportunities.

Joanna knows statistics very well but is very incoherent. Her emails, handouts, and PowerPoints are not very well organized. Exams count for 70% of your final grade so make sure you study those over your weekly quizzes. Extra credit doesnt count for much. Only have one person in your project group buy Minitab or else you will all waste $65 on it.
