Description:Ignores any ideas that don't agree with his, thinks a story where a person gets ripped off a stage/beaten/mutilated is "kinky," doesn't encourage discussion or expression of ideas unless its what he wants to hear. Extremely condecending towards students & any previous english teachers you've had. The worst professer I've ever had.

Comment:
Encourages discussion, but only if the students are talking about exactly what he wants them to; he basically ignores anything else and railroads the conversation back to what he wants it to be. He's discouraging with regard to tests and essays, and just doesn't act very interested in helping his students do well.

Comment:
Dr. Dupras was hilarious- I still tell my friends "Jane Eyre- YOU CAN'T TRUST HER- SHE IS A LIAR" You could always get into Dr. Dupras' classes because all the lightweights ran away- and he didn't do the "Natives get a 'B'" thing. Mildly tough by normal standards- making him positively demonic by UAF standards.

This class is difficult, but if you apply yourself you will do fine. Professor Dupras knows his subject and will make you think about literature in a different light, as long as you read, think, study hard, and write well. What higher education should be.

Very poor class. Instead of learning literary criticism, all we did was read about authors who were literary critics. Lots of work, lots of reading and very little payoff. I learned next to nothing.

Perhaps the finest teacher I ever had the pleasure to take a class with. Demanding, which puts a lot of lazy students off, but truly a dedicated scholar and teacher.
