Would not recommend taking this course. Lectures are incredibly boring but are not mandatory. Study Guide is only a little bit helpful. Grade in class depends only on exams. There are no opportunities to raise your grade through extra credit or attendance etc..

Dr. Belote is a good teacher, he never goes too fast. He explains things very clearly. His study guide is a god-sent. Everything on the exams is on the study guide. Easy A if you go to class and pay attention.

Great class, learned a lot. It's clear Belote loves the material he's teaching and I actually enjoyed going to lecture. Make use of the study guides because they will help you out with your exams! Don't bother with the txtbook though, I bought it and never even opened it.

One of the worst professors I ever had, teaches class with handwritten notes that for Gods sake cannot be understood. Intentionally leaves out certain material to make you come to class. DONT BUY TEXTBOOK but DO BUY HIS STUDY GUIDE. Exams are lextures and are undoubtably based on material he barely spoke about. Won't take any of his class anymore

His class is very easy if you go to lecture than your set for every exam the only problem is that exams are worth alot, so you never have a chance to improve if you mess up on a single exam. Also, no point of buying the textbook.

The class IS the lecture. I bought the textbook last semester, threw it in a corner, and left it there. Very approachable, and has some "interesting" photoshop skills, to boot! Practice exams are INSANELY helpful, and as long as you put in the time to learn how the operons and other mechanisms work, you'll do fine.

Handwritten powerpoint slides are almost illegible and provide almost no help when reviewed after class. His lectures are incredibly boring and his lecture/speaking style hurts my ears to listen to. His practice problem sets are also very basic compared to what material is covered on exams, and he does not use the book at all.

I LOVE Dr. Belote - he's such a nice guy, very helpful and will explain anything you don't understand. He's also really interested in what he teaches. I've taken 2 of his classes and have really enjoyed having him as a professor.
