Such an interesting professor to take 110 with. Study for his tests, he isn't easy, but not too difficult either. Keeps the class incredibly interesting. A few dad jokes that you can only appreciate.

Prof. Shaw was one of my best and favorite professors. He is such a nice guy and makes his lectures funny and interesting. I always loved going to his class because he made learning fun and easy. He really cares about his students and makes sure to know everyones name by the first week of class. Highly recommend his class. Do study for tests though

Comment:

This man is an excellent professor; he is equal parts caring, hilarious, and knowledgeable about his field. It's extremely difficult to get into one of his classes, but if you get the chance to take a class with him, enjoy it; definitely one of the finest educators in Lafayette's history. The exams aren't hard, just pay attention and read the book.

Professor Shaw is the epitome of what a good professor should be. He really wants his students to do well and he gives every opportunity for them to do so. He's incredibly energetic and you don't even realize it but his energy and the way he says things helps you remember them. I'm not a psych major but I would absolutely take another Shaw class.

If you ever are lucky enough to get into one of this man's classes, pounce on that opportunity. Ridiculously smart (has 4 degrees, including a J.D.) and gives amazing lectures. What's more, he really cares about his students - he has lots of office hours, is receptive to email, and does night-before-exam reviews (even though he lives 40 mins away).

Doesn't get better than Professor Shaw at Lafayette. Extremely funny, cares a LOT about his students, and is very knowledgeable about his field. My one complaint would be that the reading feels very long, but it's not the worst thing in the world. Would highly recommend him if you are ever lucky enough to get into one of his classes.

This guy is what all professors should aspire to be. He is extremely passionate about his topic, a great speaker, and truly cares about his students. Even though he lives 40 minutes away, he commutes to campus the night before an exam to help us review. It's really hard to get his class (I signed up 5 sec after it opened), it is beyond worth it.

Prof. Shaw is the funniest, most lovable professor in the world. I aspire to be like him not only in the sense that he is extremely intelligent and intellectually passionate, but also because he's just a great guy. Prof. Shaw is the type of guy you want to go on a road trip with.

Prof. Shaw saved my grades my 1st semester! Funniest Prof morning struggle to stay awake in class, moved to the back (I felt rude sleeping in the front row) he told me he didn't mind if I dozed off, & I moved back to the front During office hours, he took a real interest in my struggles in the class & helping me pass the tests he learns names!

One of the best professors I have ever had. Really wish he taught outside the Psych department so I could have him again. So helpful and a really interesting guy. If you need a lad science requirement, taking psych with Shaw is your best bet.

One of the best teachers. Really makes the class interesting and fun. Really puts a lot of effort into making the information clear and concise. He also makes an effort to learn all of his students names, when sometimes there are 80+ kids in the class. Tests are easy. He does use info from the textbook and class lectures

I love this professor!! He is my favorite by far. He is so enthusiastic and really knows what he is talking about. Brings humor to class in order to interest everyone. I have never been bored or fallen asleep in his class.
