Comment:

You have to work for the grade. READ the book! Although attendance is not mandatory its really useful to go b/c he sometimes asks REALLY specific questions that have to do with the class discussion rather than the book material. In this case getting notes from a friend doesn't really help. Not much work outside of class just really hard studying.

He is hilarious and the lectures don't get boring. BUT you have to read the textbook in order to pass his exams and he can bring up detailed questions. He is humble and always there to help.

Professor Keenan is a great guy. His class is only graded off of tests, no quizzes or homework. His tests are easy, either multiple choice or true/false. Go to his office hours!!!! One of the best professors at MSU

His tests were little facts taken from his lectures and the book. Of course, most of his tested were only 20 questions I felt like he didn't really teach as much as tell random stories and waste time

Had him for an honors course broken up between three profs. He was the absolute favorite, clear, easy, explains everything. Do the labs and you are all but guaranteed a pass. Very funny, strange views on "science", would absolutely take again.

The material seems daunting at first but if you go to the lectures and study hard it seems straightforward. Attendance was not mandatory but if you don't go to his lectures you will struggle through the whole semester.

I took him for a summer course. Easiest course that I probably will every take in my lifetime. I wouldn't recommend taking him though if you actually need this course like for ecology or environmental based science majors. You learn absolutely nothing. Quizzes are sooooo easy and the midterm and final were on a topic of your choosing.

Took Bio2 this summer for the 4 week session. Super easy class with not many quizzes or assignments. Trips we went on were fun. Barely opened the textbook. I highly recommend taking him for an easy grade, but perhaps not if you need the info for your future career (e.g. conservation biology, ecology, etc.) Never took attendance.

This was my first Biology class at MSU! I must say he has to be one of the best biology professors to ever teach! he teaches in a fun way and makes you understand the material without reading straight from the book! Deff recommend anyone to take him! great professor !

Take him! He is the only bio professor at MSU that you'll pass with an A. All his quizzes are true and false even the final.After taking a quiz he goes over the answers. WRITE THEM DOWN. All the quiz questions are on the midterm. The final WAS BASICALLY THE MIDETERM QUESTIONS with two open ended added in. Take him you wont regret it!!!!

This class was the hardest, yet most rewarding of my college career. Keenan is genuine, passionate, funny and brings out the best in those around him if you are up to the challenge. His intelligence coupled with his bill murray type look/humor-very attractive! Take him! You will be a better student and person for it!

This was one of the most difficult yet intriguing classes of my college experience. You must keep up with the readings, and record him if you can; exams and quizzes come from details in the text and in the lectures. He drops an exam and quiz, there are 4 of each. Extra credit is offered.
