Kara is fabulous. She is sometimes slow at returning work, but when it finally is returned, it is full of extremely helpful comments. She is willing to meet with students at very non-standard hours to help with projects. She is very supportive of her students.

Wow. I can honestly say that waking up for this class and leaving my nice boyfriend's warm cozy bed to sit in a state of abject torture for two hours every Tuesday and Thursday almost made me not want to be a teacher anymore. I hope to never waste my time on such a useless class/professor again.

I would never recommend this professor to anyone. Like others have said, I feel like she should be teching H.S. I did not learn anything in this class, and, to make things worse, I was completely miserable the whole time. The readings and discussion will put you to sleep. The assignements are extremely vague. Lots of work at the END of the semester

She's just kind of...dumb. I don't completely understand why she's a professor. She's really nice, though, and she'll encourage you to pursue your interests. Try to get in a fight with her, it's fun! It's like fighting with a high school teacher!

I like her as an advisor- You'd too if you are mama's boy type. She's extrememly supportive and caring. Yes, I agree, discussions often goes wet and wild in the class- but it's fun! (For me.) She rarely keep up with the syllabus, but she made it so it's flexible enough to work out in the end.

also ed. psych, shes a good prof, doesnt believe in following syllabus dogmatically and students who want to change the education system. her emphasis on theory may not be 'real world'but shes applied it to her son successfully, so its possible.

Kara is definitely better as a one-on-one mentor than as a big group facilitator. I was lucky to work closely with her, and always appreciated the fact that she treated me more like an equal than like a lame-o student.

I have to disagree. Kara is a thoughtful, caring, challenging professor who takes some risks in the classroom. I think that students are afraid to step out of their comfort zones, and that is why she has gotten these negative reviews.

she's a nice person... not good instructor. She doesn't keep to the syllabus at all and tends to discuss minute points to death. At times it's interesting... more often it's like hell.
