Horkman goes so into deep biology in Bio 101. I think it should have been a higher level class! tests were close together and she doesnt use powerpoint or the computer for lecture just a projector...

At first you don't like her... but then towards then end of it you might actually find her funny. You just have to crack the code (doing notecards, actually studying, recording her while she gives you test questions).. also, try to find a group of people in the class that can help you. I hated the class at first but found it enjoyable by the end.

Well, the plus side of taking her is she rewards her students for making note cards. Her lectures are, all over the place. Needs to use PowerPoints for better transitions. Can get lost pretty easy when she is lecturing, again because of her transitions. Fix the lecture and she'd improve dramatically. Not as bad as the score indicates.

There are 9 tests that we barely have time to study for and theres a test almost every week. When you ask her questions she doesnt directly answer it, she gets an attitude if we have questions, tests barely reflect notes, she has us study things (which she says will be on the test) then doesnt put them on the test. Shes looking for us to fail.

I had this professor for both Zoology and Botany, yes she is difficult, yes she demands a lot of her students, but she is the best damn professor I have ever had. I have graduated at this point, but I look back on my classroom experience and cherish what I learned. If she was an easy teach, I certainly wouldn't have learned as much as I did.

I dropped her class after the first day. She has a terrible personality, and she seems very cold toward her students. She doesn't use blackboard at all and expects students to keep track of their own grades, which is ridiculous b/c that should her job as the teacher. It's like she's setting you up for failure from the start. DO NOT TAKE HER!

The worst teacher I ever had. Studied night after night only to get F's and D's on tests. Also shes a rather bland and awful mannered person, very uncomfortable to be around

She is a great teacher. There are many people complaining about how hard the class is but this a required class. She is trying to get us ready for the big and bigger universities so if this class is too hard for you and you want to drop it then maybe college is not for you. If you study, turn in homework on time , and do notecards you will pass.

She's not very clear on what is being coveted in tests and she covers things in tests that were not covered in class or lab. Tests cover massive amounts of material. Has projects that are potentially harmful to animals. She is no-nonsense and kind of intimidating. Not an awful teacher.

I love this class and look forward to it. The material can be a little difficult if it is your first biology class, but it is not hard to pass if you do the reading and note cards. The instructor seems like she enjoys what she is doing which is always a plus.

This was NOT a hard class but you did have to listen and do the work. Many commits are not true, for example, the class can't have more than 28 students, projects are worth 100/1500 points and there were A's and B's.(Did you ask the teacher?) Most of the time, the questions that were asked had just been answered by the teacher. Work = decent grade.

Never agrees with anything, always has her opinion to put in. Thinks everyone is a failure if they don't think like her.

I took her for Botany. Terrible class. The subject is dry enough as it is without the long monotone lectures that barely skim the important facts from the textbook, and labs that are a mystery as to why and how they relate to the topic. Not to mention mandatory field trips and projects that are a waste of time and gas.

After attending class, reading the text, and asking questions I still recieved low grades on my test. The questions were poorly word and pertained to nothing she went over in class. She the ability to be a good instructor as her lack of empaty and overbearing intelligence is obvious. This woman should go work at a museum.

I cant stand this woman, she ruined my whole semester. I truly believe that if she was someone's first college prof. , they would drop out altogether. DO NOT TAKE HER! She'll teach you more about her personal life than she will about Biology- like how she is discriminated against for being FAT! Not our fault lady, we weren't the ones who teased you
