Beware blinking in Fiegl's class. The moment you close your eyes, you've missed an entire chapter's worth of notes because she writes so much on the board so quickly.

Comment:

Having this professor puts you at a disadvantage for this difficult course. My friends that I consider myself about equivalent to (in terms of intelligence) got higher grades and had a better understanding of the material, while spending less time reviewing outside of class. Avoid if you can. But if you wind up stuck with her you can prevail.

Avoid this professor. She is way to quiet, literally. She speaks way too softly. She had to use a microphone in a small room. She barley used that too. She wanders a lot through a topic. Things seem overly complicated. She makes the topic boring. I have to retake this course because of her poor communication skills.

Took this and MA2321 in the same semester. I was very happy with her. Her examples in the notes were exactly like the problems on the quizzes and tests (which your grade is entirely based on). Never once used either book and had no trouble on tests or quizzes.

Attending class is almost pointless as she offers no practical examples and you'll do much better by just reading the book. She doesn't collect homework, but you'll have to do it anyway if you want to understand the material at all. The class would be much improved if she gave practical examples.

She wasn't TOO bad. Holds extra homework sessions which are a big help. Does not collect homework, grade based on tests. What annoyed me was that she spent lots of time going over countless proofs of pretty much every theorem. However, she did not teach applications because "there wasn't enough time," which made everything we learned seem useless.

She runs a very strange class for Lin Alg. There is no homework, one final exam and 6 quizzes. Going to class is smart, but not required. She never gives practical explanations, all she uses are notation to explain concepts. Because of that it is hard to understand a pretty easy concept. Take someone else if you have the chance.

Was terrible. Learned everything about that class from Learning Center and friends. She assumes you know the material beforehand, and lectures past the end of her time. Don't take her, and if you do, don't schedule important things immediately after her class.

TERRIBLE. I had this teacher for 3 math classes. Calc 2, Lin Alg, and Diff eq. She was great in calc 2 with only 30 people in the class, but when it came to the large lectures it was terrible. Grading was ridiculous, only made up of 2 exams and ~4 quizzes.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!! I can not believe Tech would continue to employee a professor this bad. She made Linear Algebra so hard, half the class failed. I kid not. To up the average for the final, she omitted half the kids that failed the exam to bring the average up to a 70.

Avoid if possible. Nice woman, knows the material, willing to help, and fair grader, yes. As for teaching that material, she lacks. Too much time spent on theory, not enough teaching problem solving skills. Learned more by reading the book and doing the assignments in her class than from her actual instruction. Very dull and boring. Avoid!

She is extremely knowledgeable with the subject matter, however her ability to teach the material is poor. She focuses way too much on unless theory and proofs, when she should be demonstrating it to us with examples. Exams are difficult, and partial credit is okay. Just don't take LinAlg/DiffEq in the same semester, or you WILL get destroyed.
