I had Professor Wishnia for Creative Writing and honestly, he wasn't that bad. We worked on one paper for the entire semester as part of our final project and when he held writing conferences, you were allowed to leave class EARLY. Participation does matter, but it's not that bad. Just show up on time. He's literally letting you leave early....

Creative Writing (Eng 131): Boring class, you'll work on one paper the whole semester All over the place when he talks about things. I'm not trying to brag, but I'am a very good writer. And there were things that he marked I should change in my paper that just didn't make any sense. He is a published author

gets off topic so easily and just goes on and on about himself and his books. Hes so creepy with the girls in class as well. He will make you print out so many drafts of your paper its annoying. His hand writing is so bad you can't even read what he says. He circles random things. Do not take this class if youre not a latino or a girl.

Be prepared to read! this class is NOT hard but just a lot of reading. Participation matters! He is a tough grader but is fair when you revise your work. We hand in 1 page respose paper every week then the following class he hands it back to us to give us a chance to review it and make changes for a better grade. Response papers are not that hard!

the first class he makes it his point to disprove the christian bible and he will continue to bring it up every chance he can throughout the semester even though people dont read the bible like that. the weekly assignments are something else... its extremely hard to understand what he wants in a 1 page paper. very discouraging to receive low grades

claims to be the best Author but if you ask me he should stick to writing than teaching novels. There is no real learning in the class, all you do are written responses to novels, plays, and short stories.

Good luck getting an A if you're not a girl and it Latino. He seems to only give people like that good grades. I've tested it to, my friend who is a girl and Latino wrote the same about for an assignment, same amount of detail, she got an A I got a B-. Hes the worst teacher is ever had.

Professor Wishnia is a peculiar guy. Or as I like to call him my guy KENNETH! Class was a breeze, weekly 1 page article summaries and one 3 page paper was all it was. Literally takes 10 minutes to do the weekly assignments, show up and do the work, although he rarely will give an A. I liked his funny strap on shoes and oversized shirts. What a guy.

He has you read books written by his friends and himsel and you have to buy them all. Feminist Science fiction was the trend off the anthology he assigned as well. Miserable.

He's a pretty easy grader, but don't expect an A unless you write a very long response of the book/story you had to read. Participation is the key to boosting up your grade. I would take him again, he's really nice and funny and is willing to let you fix your work to bump up your grade a little.

You can't go into a literature class and not expect to read a lot. He gives a college level amount of reading and assigns reflection papers; this isn't high school anymore. He is well-versed, bright, and very patient. He grades participation, so get involved for that as well as for your own sake.

I loved him! However for this class you have to put a lot of effort into your work. He grades you strictly on effort and it's not an easy class. He did show favorites but I still enjoyed him as a teacher. In fact I liked him so much that have him again next semester for English 102. Great teacher if you enjoy writing and are decently good at it!
