Comment:
Dr. Lysack has a linear lecture style that can become dry eventually, but due to her idiosyncratic sense of humour (which you will only understand if your educated for it) keeps the lectures alive. This course is reading intensive. I would overall recommend this Proff moving forward in English. She is also an easy marker

A little shy but that's what makes her so great. NOT intimidating at all which makes it easy to participate in discussions. Very sweet and willing to help. Lectures are pretty straight to the point and easy to follow. She is also a fair marker. My favourite prof. so far!

Although she is very nice, I didn't really like Professor Lysack as a professor... I think that she is very shy and quiet and I didn't get as much out of her lectures as I expected - I felt that we touched on important topics but didn't delve into them the way I think we should have

I loved this professor! She was so sweet and nice. She can be a bit quiet, but I didn't mind. Her lectures are very clearly planned out and easy to follow. She's a great marker as well. She has a sense of humour and is really enjoyable.

She is a very quiet person and does not have the energy that many other profs do. Her lectures are not so much about context and connections but themes and plot. Personally she is really kind and helpful.

She is a very sweet and accommodating professor. She really wants her students to do well. Her only downfall is that she spoon feeds the students who don't read the novels and doesn't delve as deep into text interpretation as she could otherwise. Overall great prof.

She speaks slowly and really quietly but the content of her lectures is great. There was a lot of reading for the course and I didn't read all of the material but her lectures provide so much insight that it was ok to not have read all of the material. Definitely not an easy marker but fair. Also, she's really pretty :)

It takes awhile to get used to Lysack's lectures since she's definitely not as energetic as some English profs (she seems a little shy), but she's a clear speaker and she knows what she's talking about. She needs to cut down on those readings where she only takes about 10 minutes talking about them (mostly plot summary). Adorable prof, though.

Sweet and super cute! Definitely knows what she's talking about. Stutters and pauses often but I think this is because she's very shy in front of her students. Not egotistical, always helpful, and a fair marker. Definitely take her classes, you won't regret it!

As a person she seemed really nice. But I didn't really like her as a professor. Her lectures were rather shallow, often simply plot/theme summary. I found that reading the Wikipedia entries for the books we studied was often more enlightening. She seems nervous/shy, which might be the problem. She does try. Will probably improve with experience.

What a great prof! She doesn't place herself above the students, and she encourages creative thinking without making participation a must. Great texts. She is not an easy marker but with a fair amount of work you will get a good grade. She has creative assignments as well which are a great experience, and enjoyable.

Super nice and adorable. Doesn't know how good she is, so will sometimes be shy in front of the class. Very fair marker with decent office hours. The reading isn't excessive, although you don't really need to do it before class because she doesn't call on you and there is no midterm. Very friendly. Great prof!

Lysack is a great prof. Lectures are interesting and easy to follow. She is organized, VERY helpful, it is easy to see that she knows her stuff. She marks fairly, but isn't overly lenient, which is great. You don't have to agree with her to have a valid point in her eyes. She made me love the texts I initially hated. Her personality is refreshing.

Great prof. Very easy-going. Well-prepared for lectures. Not a very difficult marker. Final essay was a little long but the exam was very fair. She can seem a little awkward and shy, but that's only because she doesn't know how good she really is and she doesn't have the normal prof ego. Good reading list.
