Comment:

Professor MacDonald is so kind and has such a passion for the class. The lectures are a little boring sometimes. Each week there is a take-home test or a film report due and there is a final that is open book.

By the professor's body language and in the way he expresses his teachings, you can tell that he is very passionate about his job. He does give you take home test where the answers come directly from his book. It's a fairly easy class, but it's also easy to fall asleep in if you don't keep your mind occupied.

This was a very easy class. If you like music and movies, then you'll enjoy it. He does keep track of attendance. He is kind of boring but i just did other assignments while he was lecturing and I got a 4.0. The only bad part was an 8 page paper. All of the teasts are take home. He is a super nice man!!! easy A

This class was awful. Prof. MacDonald can't stay on topic for the life of him. He is too busy trying to demostrate everything on the piano since its the only instrument he can play. He was very boring and made me hate music even more.

one of the worst classes I have ever taken. In the music world there are have and have nots. Someone is a little bitter. The only text he can follow is the one he wrote himself. My advice: When you have to write the 8 page paper about the music in a film. Make it dry and boring like his class. Otherwise find it neutered in red ink.

Very nice man. Easy to talk to. Lectures alot, but class is easy as long as you show up and pay attention. Take all handouts and there are no problems on the quizzes.

I'm sorry. He is a nice guy, and I've always enjoyed classical music and I go to class. But as thoroughly explained by others here, he cannot and does not stay on topic and is very boring, NOT the subject but his approach to teaching it. Wastes time, and doesn't inspire.Sorry, I guess it's just that I've had so many better teachers.

Not everyone is a fan of Classical Music that is what makes it boring for most people. Prof. McDonald taught the class very well including a history of music and the styles. People just need to go to class, and they will be able to enjoy his expertice in this subject.
