while this man is adorable, he needs to spend more time planning his lectures. I got so frustrated in his class I walked out, it was a waste of my time. He talks about his personal views constantly, and then wants to test you on the book facts. Cute old man, lots of worldly knowledge, not very good at teaching anymore. :(

Worst teacher ever! i didnt learn anything..we had a quiz every class over the 50 pages of reading he gave us! we didnt do anything in class and i dont think he kept a record of grades. i got a b in the class but if i would have gotten a F i would not have been suprisd! he came out of retirment to teach our class DONT TAKE HIS CLASS

he is a retired professor who has come back to teach this class. he talks more about current events than ancient civilizations, so when he does talk about the right thing it is hard to follow. he talks about his views on politics a lot.

Leighton is a great teacher. He is very knowledgable and keeps the students interested. Although he assigns some quizzes that seem to have way too much material, the grade is based mostly on your papers (in and out of class) and your attendance. I highly recommend taking a class by Leighton, you'll learn a lot.

Best class I've had yet. I learned a lot of very important things. The quizes and essays were very hard, but if you try, he cuts you some slack. There are no tests so attendence is a must since your graded mostly on participation.

He grades based on quizzes and class participation. The problem is, this quizzes are little facts you won't remember in the articles, and he talks the entire time--meaning no class participation. If you want to read 18 page articles and listen to him ramble, then take this class. If not, DON'T!!!

Leighton Scott is one of the best teachers I've ever had. He does ramble, and many think he is insane, but underneath his crazy demeanor dwells genius. If you need your boring class schedual a little shaken up, take him for a lit or IDS credit.

Great teacher. Most complain that he's hard but thats mostly because people dont have a grasp on the concepts before coming in to class. Know your history.
