Iniitially she scared me to death, but she really knows her material. She has very high expectations of her students, and does an excellent job of presenting the material! I definitely recommend her, and wish I could have taken her for the 2 semester A&P instead. Lots and lots of studying required for her class!!!!

Dr. Ballard is an EXCELLENT teacher, I am more proud of a B and "well done" from her, than an A from many of my other teachers, because I know I've really earned it. If you are willing to put the work in, you will leave far more knowledgable than you started. I will rearrange other classes if necessary to have her for A&P!

When i first started this class I couldn't help but think that she was a B****. But suprisingly enough i ended up thinking that she was a GREAT teacher. I do reccomend her, she is VERY hard, and get ready to take lots and lots of notes!!!!

Gotta take Lena if you need a&p. It is a hard, challenging class but she is the greatest. She gives study guides well before the tests that tell you EXACTLY what you need to know. VERY clear- sticks to the syllibus- found her to be very helpful- but DON'T inturrupt her in class- she's much frienlier during office hours. You know exactly what she wants from you- and she is very willing to make sure you understand her. Love this class!!! if you have to take 185 I would highly recommend taking Lena...shes great. Very clear on her expectation and is very helpful....the class is challenging but if you put in the work you should have know problems whatso ever.

Took her A & P Class for Fall '04. You gotta take down LOTS of notes real fast. ALL the exam answers are found in the notes so if you memorize your notes, you're all set! Easy A for people with good memory. She slips in a few jokes every now and then to lighten up the class and uses analogies to help us understand the subject matter.
