I could not have started my college years with a better professor! Dr. Sassone is hands down one of the most inspirational and caring professors (or teachers in K-12). The class can sometimes be a bit boring, but it changed my outlook on the educational system. We had a lot of assignments towards the end, but the rest of the semester wasn't bad.

Professor Sassone's unique approach to in-class discussions provides for a deep and enriching experience that is very unique. She is also a very caring professor, always looking out for her students' personal needs, even outside of her class. I would strongly recommend taking Professor Sassone's class to others.

I took EPFE with Sassone my freshman year. She was an extremely caring professor and was all about self-care. If you needed to take a personal day, she understood, but it did affect your grade. She pushed learning to juggle very hard, but she made the classroom an enjoyable environment and I felt connected to the other students in the class.

Sassone really cares about her students and wants the everyone to succeed. Juggling and meditation was really a great part of the class and I learned to love it. If you are worried about speaking in class, talk to Sassone about it. I hardly spoke in class and still received a high grade in her course. I would recommend this professor to everyone.

Sassone was very inspirational. I enjoyed the class discussions, meditating and learning to juggle in her class. It is important to pay attention to her announcements on blackboard, come to class and participate as well as keep up with the reading she assigns. Overall I had a great experience being a student in her class. She doesn't ask for much.

Dr. Sassone is one of the most good-natured individuals I have ever had the honor of knowing. She takes a genuine interest in her students' livelihood and puts forth effort to try to help you with anything you may be struggling with- inside the classroom or out. She is a true gift as a professor, always giving until she has nothing left to share.

Easiness is relative. Do you care about learning and becoming a better person? If so, take a class with Dr. Sassone. Are you looking to blow off your education? take this as well, maybe you'll reevaluate. Objectively, if you read, show up, participate, and engage with the materials, you will pass with flying colors.

Every class starts with meditation and juggling. May seem like a joke at first, but some people get something out of it. If you participate, engage, show up to class and say what she wants to hear you will pass with an A.

Sassone is one of the most compassionate teachers I've had at NIU. She can be a bit rudedemanding, but that is just her personality. If you show her you care, she will give you 100% dedication. We meditate and juggle in each class. It's a fun class to be in. You must love discussion, because it happens everyday.

Juggling and meditation to start every class. Then the rest of class was "discussion" over the readings.(She basically talked about the reading trying to pull some sort of deep meaning from it). I never read, went to all but 2 classes, and got an A. No homework. 2 tests. One group project.(talking aimlessly for a class period) Didn't learn a thing.

We spent an entire 3 hour class debating how we wanted to be graded on an assignment. Then she decided she didn't want to grade anything all semester and that everyone would get an A or a B. No points the entire semester sounds nice...unless your class is a bunch of future teachers. I just wanted a little structure and she didn't provide any.

This class was extremely easy and Professor Sassone is a wonderful human being. Very intellectual and passionate about her discussions with students. All we really did in class was talk about the readings we had to do (which are also pretty easy). You get to juggle at the start of each class, which is an experience. Take her she's great!

Very nice. High expectations, but not unrealistic. Expects you to handle your own work and research. Not much hand holding, but I wouldn't expect that at the college level. Don't take this class if you want to coast. She expects hard work and lots of participation. Great professor.

She is a very interesting woman. Class is entertaining, you won't fall asleep. There is a lot of work, but as long as you keep up you will do fine. She knows what she is doing, and tends to try to come off like a very caring person but will forget you as soon as you leave the class.

I love this woman. Took the class for three hours on Wednesdays & she always held my attention. Tends to ramble, but does so interestingly. Readings can be hard, but she doesn't have huge expectations. Lots of discussion, two tests on vocab you've had from the first day, short response papers, peer review, one oral report, 2 five page papers.
