Comment:
Dr. Harte was tough because he only lectured. Taking Asian Philosophy with him was hard because there was little opportunity for group discussion. You are required to participate by asking questions, however. He is also a very tough grader. Be prepared to work really hard to achieve even average grades. Very smart man, but too smart for us.

Harte is one of the smartest professors at WSU, and he acts like it. Class is incredibly boring, and he just makes it worse. Do all of the assignments and you will be fine, but don't expect it to be easy or fun.

Heavily opinionated, treats an entry level course as the most important course you will take in your college career. Gives lectures that make pretty much no sense and never told the grade for the last 3 assnm, paper assignments and presentation are relatively easy, you just make everything up. He made me ask to go to the bathroom...I'm a grown man?

This was one of the worst classes I have taken. I have never worked harder to get poor grades. He is an incrediably hard grader and it seems to be swayed by his mood. Often his comments do not reflect his papers. He once said if you have a problem with your grade and you come to him he will not change the grade, but he may take away points. Awful.

This class is called "Great Phil Issues" but beware, it should really be called "Analyzing Plato's Republic". He gives out 6 quizzes, drops the lowest 2, gives out a few papers, makes you do a presentation and gives an extra credit assignment worth up to 10% on top of your final grade. Attend class and you'll do walk out with a solid grade.

this class was more enjoyable then i thought out. The class itself can be dull at times but Harte has quirky sense of humor which helps the class flow well. All and all the class wasn't to difficult just read know enough of what he's talking about and participate and you should have no problem in this class.

Attendance and participation are required. Short reading assignments, 10 weekly journal entries (500 word), two 750 word papers that are presented to the class, and one research paper at the end of the semester (he gives you plenty of time to work on it). He played movies relating to the material on Friday's (extra credit for attending)

Harte is a great guy, has a unique sense of humor. His class is boring so bring something else to do. There are two presentations and one research paper/presentation at the end of the semester. Weekly 500 page papers that are easy. He's a tough grader on the writing portion of things. Has a great British accent though. Not bad overall.

Not a bad professor. Has an awesome British accent which was cool for an Anglophile like myself. The material is challenging but if you put time into it it's not too difficult to grasp. The class discussions were interesting.

I was scared to take an ethics class, but it's been my favorite class in my 3 years at WSU! Harte is intimidating, but if you give him what he wants in his papers, no problem! Can't go without reading for quizzes (theyre takehome). Can only miss 3 classes. Easy papers once you grasp concept.

liam's an interesting guy to say the least. he's got a crazy british accent, and more likely than not you'll hear him talkin about dog racing. he scales your grades by like, at least 30 points and is very wordy in his lectures. I'd say his class is of medium difficulty, but i'd recommend it.

Very smart professor. Class discussions will more often than not be repetitive. Not a lot of lecture, but a lot of discussions. Nice guy. Kind of a hard grader at first... I'm not exactly sure how his grading scale worked.
