Fears has been by far the best teacher I took. Yes, she can come off as bland or tough at times, but if you ask for help she will be there and help you. she gives extra credit options and genuinely cares about her students. her motto was "the reason my name is fear is because I am the only fear in this class. this class is a happy zone". loved her!

She is all over the place when teaching. She has random assignments that don't really matter. Her tests don't match what she lectures in class. Lots of group projects. She's tough. If you are looking for an easy A don't take her class. You have to actually work for it.

I do not like Dr.Fears. She teaches the class as a history of black mass media. Which would be fine if that was the class but its supposed to be all history. Videos are old and she doesn't know much to be honest. Don't recommend.

Absolute worst professor I have had in my four years at ASU. Lots of crazy pop quizzes and stupid rules (she actually told us we couldn't wear an arkansas razorbacks t-shirt in her class!) Avoid this class at all costs

She didn't seem to know what she was talking about at all. She just talked about her government job which didn't really have anything to do with the material we were covering. She had a few guest speakers which were boring, and took us on a tour of a printing factory (boring!). I hated this class!

i agree with the last two comments! she thinks she is important b/c of past job experence while she is not up to date. she is not the brightest or most interesting person. you wont learn much of anything in her class and youll have trouble passing it too, unless you are of her race.

it's an easy class but it's very unorganized...I loved journalism before taking this class. I was bored to death and she tried to make everything about blacks the centerpiece of the class....It would be okay if it was a race gender and media class, but its not. I am seeking a new mass comm teacher.

She treats everyone equally and wants everyone to succeed.I think she looks at everyone as a student not as white or black. Bottom line- if you do the work you get the grade. What she does is no different from a white communications teacher. I recommend her to all her races.
