Comment:

Lisa gets a really unfair bad rap. Yes, she is eccentric and can be harsh, but those who are looking into being in the professional theatre world should learn to appreciate these qualities, because it definitely will NOT be the last time they encounter these types of personalities. She also directs great shows with a unique approach.

There are a lot of Prima Donna attitudes Ive seen in her classes from students that are used to Profs catering to them-which Lisa doesnt do. Its also amazing to me that her favorites always seem to be those students that show up well prepared and participate. She is a very good director & communicator of concepts. She's a typical artist.

This is hard to say, because a part of me really wants to believe that, deep down, Lisa is a nice person. But she isn't, she's an awful teacher--disorganised and she assigns unnecessary work and reading--and she's two-faced and plays favorites like nobody's business. She's extremely unfair, and treats people like crap. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Prof. Warren assigns a lot of reading and lectures quite a bit but if you take notes, you'll be fine. She also favors slides and videos. Reading Quizzes happen often but are pretty easy if you've read or atleast skimmed. Participation in class helps a lot too.

Fantastic woman. Demands a lot of work outside of class just so u know what your doing but it pays off. Shes one of the main reasons i'm still here at school. Take the time to get to know her and you will have a great friendship to show from it.

Dr.Warren really needs to not choose favorites, she also judges students very easily. She makes assumptions about students when she has no idea what she is talking about. She is very harsh and it makes it difficult to be around her. If she had a better connection with her students more people would have positive things to say.

Lisa is terrible with playing favorites. She's very honest w/ her critiques which is okay at times, but very hurtful at others. Her way of teaching is a little out in left field and has not been helping me as an actress. She will have nice comments for me in emails, but only criticizes in class. Did I mention she's terrible about playing favorites?

she has no experience in acting. she got her degree in costume design for god's sake. she is harmful to beginning actors and an embarassment to the department, with her uncalled for comments and her inability and unwillingness to help everyone.

Oh god... Her class was not much fun, we had to read several bad plays and do scenes from them. She played favorites, and the worse part of the class was having to write a 8-10 page paper *completely* unrelated to anything that we looked at, read, or talked about in class. The class is an extra hour and a half each week, and she expects your complete dedication, when the class was crap. If you're not one of her favorites, you're SOL.

I was able to get great insight from Lisa. Lisa may have her favorites, but that's the way it works in the real world. If you show her you are an animal lover that could gain you some points. Lisa has helped me more than I can describe. Taking her class was definetly worth it for me.

This is the worst theatre teacher in the department. She just wants to be popular with the students and has a closed mind. She is unorganized and a disaster in class. She is the most unhelpful teacher I have ever had. Do not take any of her classes, please. You will regret it.

if she likes you...everything is ok..but she def. plays favorites and is extremely blunt when giving critiques. She is somewhat easy because she is so disorganized..however it is really difficult when you have a bigger project.

Ridiculous amount of material covered for an elective class. 1/3 of the stuff on final I'd never heard of and I went to class every day... assigns and tests quite a bit of the 20-30 pages of reading for each class. Take another teacher at all costs...

Lisa is a lot better outside of class than in class... but when it comes to casting, you can't compete with the favorites... until this year, apparently. I've learned that if you want something from her, you have to kiss her ass.
