I took basically the same Chem in high school and struggles because my teacher couldn't teach. I got an easy A (Naz doesn't give A+'s) with O'Brien because she is such a good teacher, you basically just have to pay attention in her class because she will cover everything . She is always helpful and available if you need extra help as well!

O'brien is a fantastic teacher. Tests and quizzes are fair & you will be extremely prepared for the information. She is very helpful and will go out of her way to make sure you understand the material. She provides in-depth powerpoints for you to print out & numerous in class worksheets.

Really nice. Fair. Mentions various fields that would be possible for a science major that wouldn't necessarily have been the first to come to mind, like working as a patent lawyer for scientific patents, and mentions some pitfalls too, like needing to be able to read the dry scientific legalese.

She is awesome. She likes going over case studies in class. For journal club you NEED to read the articles beforehand THOUROUGHLY. She wants to help everybody. She tries not to make you feel bad if you don't get something right, just tries to help you fix it to bring it up to the standard that she expects.

One of the best professors I have ever had. She explains things extremely clearly, is ALWAYS available to give help, and will always do her best to answer any questions you have. She absolutely loves what she does and it shows in her teaching - she is so enthusiastic. I would recommend her for any chem course that she teaches. She is AWESOME.

I was in Molecules Matter and Mayhem and I got by just fine. She uses powerpoints which help a lot and is very understanding. She is a great professor and you learn a lot. I could go to her with questions at any time and she was more than willing to help. A+ rating easily

Great professor! I took biochem with her and since this class focused around her area of interest and Ph.D. work she was awesome. Sometimes she was difficult but all you need to do is study and keep up with the work. Even though she rants that its a 400 level class, its not really that difficult. The final was a bit difficult though - study!
