Terrible teacher.. He just needs to retire. He's so old. He speaks so softly and bobbles his head when he talks. He just talks and talks and what he says is SO irrelevant. His tests are hard, essays easy. But you're basically on your own taking this class. He makes me want to switch out of being a History major.. ):

Lecture is dry and hard to stay awake. There is research paper, final, two essay tests and defining ids so alot to memorize for the tests. Strict in grammar and dates/year. Five textbooks to read which is recommended to pass the tests. Overall not bad but just boring.

He's this really nice old man and it breaks my heart when i'm not doing well because i feel like i'm letting my grandpa down just because he's so nice. but realistically, it's very difficult to follow along. he sometimes jumps back and forth. your grade depends on tests & each HW is worth 2possible extra points. study for tests. they're kinda vague

He hates when you don't go to class. I didn't go much since it was my first class of the day and he scolded me in front of the whole class! I ended up with a 88 in the class because of that. Nice guy besides that...but its hard to stay awake for more that 15 min. If you can take someone else!

Dr. Woodard knows a lot about history, but he seems to lack interest in communicating to his students: He's very soft-spoken, he mumbles, and it's often impossible to hear ANYTHING he says during lectures. If you read the textbook and memorize the study guide, you'll probably do OK. Overall, Dr. Woodard is a nice man but a very mediocre teacher.

Couldn't hear a word he said all year so i taught myself but he's a really sweet guy. He reminds me of the grandpa type. He loves history, you can tell. STUDY STUDY STUDY his tests are rough but know your stuff and get a seat in front or else you wont hear a thing. he shakes his head and at first its distracting but you get used to it.

I have had his 476 and diplomacy class. Prof. Woadard is very good. He is a very strong teacher who really knows his stuff. Expectations are high, though fair. Nelson Woodard is not a prof that you can bs, so be warned, but you will learn a lot, so take him if you are smart.

hes a reasonable teacher. learn on your own and you can pass with a b. i never went to class much but i passed his exams. hes kinda boring but what do you expect from history. this course aint hard unless you take it too easy and dont read. most of the question comes from the textbook. you do have to write a report on the other books, but its not hard. he is easy and approachable if you're confused about something

Dr. Woodard was one of my favorite professors. He is a little hard to hear (understatement!) but a great professor. And so nice. He was even a recommendation for me two years after I graduated. You have to do the work though--no slacking off here.

Took his class four and half years ago. While I learned a lot from an seasoned professor, his lectures were dry and lacked enthusism. However, he does grade fair. My recommendation to future students is to please sit at the front and have an open mind.

The worst teacher ever! Sooooo boring. Unless you like to read, find someone else. There's a quiz in every class and he lectures on things that are NEVER on the quiz or test. He treats the general ed class as if everyone is becoming a history major and wants to know the stuff. HORRIBLE!!!!!!
