Dr. Siracusa's lectures aren't usually your best time; they're hard to pay attention to, yet mandatory. However, she really cares about making a better writer of you, is very accessible and understanding, grades hard but not hard enough to feel discouraged (accurate to how hard you worked) and is not much work, but is definitely worth a lot!

We spent the semester focused on three papers. One was a personal paper, the second was a research paper, and the third was about the movie Gone Girl (which we watched in class). These papers were not hard to write, considering the fact she chose topics based off of current events, and she's very nice! But she requires attendance of campus events.

Look into the class before taking it. Did not know that community service was a major part of the class. Had to volunteer for 6 hours in asbury park and write 3 papers on it. Whole class was centered on food insecurity and our experience volunteering. Class was heavily lecture based and very boring. Wouldn't take it again...

I wish I would have done more research on what the class was about before registering for it. The topic of the class was extremely boring and so was her teaching. She assigned busy work just to get grades in. For example, she would assign a PAPER for attending a campus event (any event) and a PAPER for reading peers papers. PURELY BUSY WORK.

she is very very very boring. the class goes on with a very slow lecture that comes to no end and the essays are never peer reviewed. we had almost no time to write our papers and she only helps give feedback for one paragraph. for a DR im very disappointed in her quality and the way she grades.

She is not too harsh on the grading as long as you can see what she is looking for in the grading. If your papers are not structured correctly, she will bite you in the butt for it, but otherwise she's the nicest English teacher I've had, other ones are too unsure of themselves. And like others have said, she likes to cancal class, she got kids.

She canceled class ALL THE TIME, but gives you miny essays to turn in instead of that class. The work load was very light and she gave plenty of time to do the readings. Plus, she reviewed things in class. Her grading can be slightly hard, but she gives easy/fun extra credit.
