Easiest class I ever took and she was very sweet. She made a topic that could be hard very easy to understand. Her tests were also a joke in the first place so you shouldn't have trouble with them. Only problem was attendance was mandatory so you can't skip even though you want to since the material is so darn easy.

AWESOME TEACHER. She's always on time, she makes everything so much easier to understand & works with the class until everyone understands the material. The textbook is online and its free... so thats a plus! All you have to do is go to class, participate, do your homework, and show effort. If you do all of these things theres you'll make an A!

This was a super chill class for me. She is very laid back about work and assignments. As long as you can read and participate, that is basically all she requires. Our final was a 50 question truefalse exam that was easy and painless. I enjoyed the class, despite how boring it was simply because she made it easy to get through.

She is such a sweet lady. The whole semester I just wanted her to make me cookies. She's a great professor and she really cares about her students and their grades. She exempted the final for anyone with an A or B and it is really not very hard to get an A or B in the class as long as you show up.

Tests are extremely hard, as expected in PHIL 110 which is known as a hard class. On top of this she has a tough grade scale and doesn't give any extra credit opportunities. If you truly aren't passing she might cut you some slack and try to help get your grade up but she otherwise doesn't care.

Dr. Houck is by far one of the nicest women I have ever met in my life. She is very engaging which can be difficult when most of the kids in class are simply there to satisfy some requirements. To be honest I felt bad I didnt give this class more time because she deserves better students! Easy/fun class especially if you keep up with the reading.

Dr. Houck is wonderful. She genuinely cares about each student in her class and will go over the material as much as is needed. She reviews and repeats herself constantly.Be sure to pay attention to the main concepts in the beginning. Then everything else will be easy. Definitely take her if you can!

Dr. Houck is an incredibly nice, caring lady. She's able to tell when the class is stressed and does quirky things like play Sandstorm before class to cheer us up. Do the readings, interact during class, and you'll be fine. Very interesting and thought-provoking subject as well.

I love Dr. Houck. SheĆ¢€™s kind, considerate, knowledgable, and understanding. She takes time before class to ask how everyone is and how our lives are progressing. The subject (Medical Ethics) was interesting and applicable. Just be sure to do the readings and participate in class. Great instructor.

Try to get Jeremy as your TA. He goes over everything in the Friday section that she does in class. I NEVER went to the main section & made an A. Attendance is mandatory for the Friday classes not the big section. Not a hard class. Really sweet teacher & you can argue your point for her to up your grade on an exam. Not a lot of outside work.

Class not so helpful just because it is a little boring, and not truly mandatory, but to be fair, it IS philosophy. Although class isn't super mandatory, her exams do cover the material so dont take her assigned reading lightly. Read her lecture slides and textbook assignments and her class will be a breeze!

Awesome professor and a great person! Her class is really easy as long as you do the practice problems which she explains in class really clearly. I've made an A on every one of her tests with almost no effort. Take Dr. Houck she's probably the best professor I'll ever have.
