The best acct prof at UHD. She knows how to teach & makes the class fun. Advanced is easier than any of the intermediate classes but you have to work all of the assigned problems till you can do them in your sleep. Fair exams and fair grading.

Dr. Shelton is a very nice woman who definitely loves accounting...her class is easy and fun mostly just need to study her notes for the tests half multiple choice and the other half are problems you have to work out...definitely recommend this teacher!

Dr. Shelton is excellent. She is very nice and helpful, always smiling and laughing. Just study your notes for the exams because the examples she does in class are similar to the one's on the exams and she brings candy on exam days. The practice set can be a headache, but she will help you if you ask for it. TAKE HER!!!

Take her for all your acc classes if you want to learn.I took a different prof for Int 1 and 2 and I really regreted it.You will learn so much from her.Int Acc3 was not easy but I was actually able to go home and work the probs from the difficult Keiso textbook after her lecture.I'm enrolled in her Adv Acc class for fall. :)

Even though accounting can a tedious and arduous class...Dr. Shelton managed to make the class fun and entertaining :D From my personal point of view, she happens to belong to the many hidden jewels in this world that reside at UH-D. She knows her subject all too well :). she's a great prof, but you have to be willing to put in the effort.

Best Accounting professor at UHD. This is an easy class and counts towards the 30 Acct hours needed to sit for the CPA exam. It's lecture based, everyone has to give a 45 min presentation, but there are no tests. You do weekly short answer assignments and chapter summaries. Dr.Shelton loves the subject matter, and by the end you probably will too

I loved having her for advanced accounting, I wish I'd taken all of my Accounting courses with her. She makes the information accessible and understandable. Her exams are straight from what is done in class. Practice, practice, practice and you'll have no problem with Dr. Shelton. 5 Star Professor!

Very Sweet Helpfull teacher, but you will have to work hard for your grade. Tests are weighed more on working out problems, very little multiple choice questions on exam, therefore you have to know how to draw out everything and small details count. Take this into consideration if you struggle with school.

she's very enthusiastic about Financial acctg. If you want a B sit in the 1st/2nd row in the center and take notes and ask questions whenever you don't understand something. I hated the practice set though because the acctg tutor's sucked ass at helping us out. Study for two days straight before the test and you'll do fine, but be careful w/ the PS

I did fail one test (very first one) because of the fact that I didn't study the right materials, but still did pretty good on the final to get a "B" in her class. She will e-mail job openings, will give u good advice, but when it comes to grade she is horrible.. for eg if the student is on 79 % she will give him C. Great teaching style-will teach you step by step if necessary. Reviews b4 exam days, but do not expect any curve to your grades.Loves bikes! Practice review you will do fine in test. No extra points are given. Must do a research paper about accounting, of course. Do recommend.
