Margo is definitely one of the best teachers I have ever had. I feel so fortunate to have met her and to be taught by her. She is REALLY DIFFICULT. She has TOUGH exams. She finger spells really fast. But ALL IN ALL, if you want to be an interpreter then none of that should bother you, it's a GREAT CHALLENGE. I love her, wish she taught ASL4 :(

Margo was is a nice woman, however, she canceled class 7 times out of the 16 week course. Basically we meet 9 times out of the whole fall semester. She made us buy the book and we NEVER used it until two weeks before finals. Too strict on tests and never gives feed back. I wouldn't recommend this professor to anyone unless she favorites you.

Tests are nearly impossible to do well on. They are also a huge part of your grade. You have to go to four deaf events and get ready to drive FAR.

Don't take her! Tests are impossible to pass. Doesn't give feedback. Got back my test from the third week of school the second to last week of the semester! Can't study things you get wrong because you don't know what you got wrong.

If your focus is learning ASL, and you don't care about GPA, take the class. She is the BEST sign language teacher you will ever find, and she's Deaf. However, her tests are practically impossible to pass and she is AWFUL about communicating hw assignments. Cannot reach her outside of class. If you care about your grade, DONT TAKE HER CLASS.

Took Margo for Spring semester and fell in love with the language. Regardless of the fact that her class is extremely difficult, its worth taking it with her. You will come out of this class much more advanced than students taking other teachers. Also, very funny professor. Love that she genuinely cares about her students.

Margo is tough, yes. However, Margo's students are far more advanced than students who don't take Margo. She has high expectations, but she wants her students to succeed. If more students would ask her for help, they would probably see better scores on their tests. Yes, there are a lot of Deaf events, but they really help you learn! Take her!

First ASL class I took and i ended up falling in love with ASL! She's a tough grader, so you have to attend class or you won't pass. You want to sit in the front when you take the test. I really learned a lot in her class. Would totally take it again!

ASL 1 don't take her. BEWARE. saying shes hard is an understatement. If you are just taking her class as a GE don't. im a deaf studies major and failed her class. I would recommend taking Bob, or George. there are 2 bobs who teach ASL I would recommend either

she is way too advanced! i really had to ask and check if i was in the beginners class it was ridiculous. i would not recommend this class, she expects us to know everything right off the bat and gets fustrated when you dont understand.

Professor Margo is funny and sweet. Class is never boring. She is a veryyy tough teacher and has you do four deaf events and 8 hours in the lab mandatory. It may be overwhelming if your heart is not in learning asl. But i passed the class with a B :) and gained tons of deaf culture and new signs.

READ THIS! Margo is a difficult teacher. If you are not willing to put in the effort in the class don't waste your time or hers. She is strict about assignments & attendance, but is very understanding of emergencies. If you want to learn ASL take her if you want to skate through a lang class find another teacher. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Margo is GREAT but HARD. You have to go to class EVERY time because she teaches so much in a short time that if you miss class you are missing a ton of stuff. If you take notes and practice and pay attention in class you will do fine. Very helpful. Welcomes any questions you have and really teaches you about the Deaf culture not just the language.

Professor Cienik is a really sweet, funny, and caring teacher! You will have to study a lot for her class & make sure you do ALL of the assignments she gives you. She's really helpful and she answers any of your questions that you ask. But she teaches you a ton of things in the semester, so be prepared to learn a lot! she's a REALLY tough grader and expects you to be perfect though D;

For my first ASL class it was fun and difficult but in a good way. Margo is incredibly helpful and wants you to KNOW ASL instead of just going through the motions. There is so much she goes over at times it is a bit overwhelming but as long as you practice you will be fine. Margo is incredibly funny and always there to help. Margo you are amazing!

I absolutely loved this class. For my first sign class i had a wonderful experience, most due to her. Shes funny, caring and main focus is the educate you in deaf culture and make sure you pass. If you dont pass the class, you didnt try hard enough. I highly reccomend taking her class

Margo is an AWESOME teacher. those who say she is hard and sign too fast are clearly not prepared to take her class. If you are wanting to become an interpreter, it is your responsibility to get out into the Deaf Community and learn. I highly recommend her to anyone taking ASL. LOVE LOVE LOVE MARGO!

READ THIS! ok this is a very nice teacher with a great personality but she is very very hard. I averaged about 60 percent on her test and i was scoring higher than most of the class. This class is meant for students who already took asl. She also takes away points for classes missed. DO NOT TAKE!!
