Professor Mignone is the most down to earth man I have met since my own grandfather. He is very passionate about his homeland and the land he now calls home. He cares about his students and is lighthearted. It is obvious that he not only is educated through material, but through his life's experiences. Humble man. Take any of his courses.

Pretty good professor/class. I see a lot of negative opinions here but I didn't really experience that. I enjoyed the class, the reading isn't too bad, and neither are the power points. Pretty simple B if you show an ounce an effort, not too hard material.

Professore Mignone is just marvelous. He is usually clear, but if he sees the class as a whole is dumbfounded he will re-explain. He loves to talk and is easy on the ears. Very passionate about his culture and literature. A humble, helpful man.

Plain and simple, this is an easy DEC. Show up for class, pay attention to the lectures, and look over the powerpoints before the tests and quizzes. That's all you need to do in order to do well in this class. I enjoyed his lectures - he's obviously very passionate about the subject matter.

HUI 239 is an easy A. The professor has an italian accent and tends to mumble but the power points are great and material covered is easy and straight forward. See the TA for clarification and the other professor that never lectures is very nice and there to help. Anyone who says this class is hard is a lazy idiot and shouldn't be in college.

While he was a nice guy but that does not cut it. He was very enthusiastic about the course which was great. It was a morale boost but he was extremely scattered in the lectures. He repeated himself a lot and seemed to ramble on about nothing important. Not the easiest DEC.

He is a very good man, He is willing to help every student who seeks help. If you are not a high achiever then dont bother taking his classes, he will challenge you, and make you think. His lectures aren't amazing but the course material teaches you a lot about Italy. Before one understands culture one must understand how the culture was shaped.

Mignone is the best! Extremely enthusiastic and funny. Sometimes its hard to pay attention in class but take good notes and the tests will be super easy. Class is mandatory but what language class isn't. I mean, if you go to class, you may actually learn something.

This class should be renamed Politics and Economics... And Some Culture of Modern Italy. If that still sounds interesting to you, good luck anyway because the tests do not really correspond with the lectures or the book. Major extra credit and curve though, my highest (by a lot) grade was 89 on a quiz and I somehow pulled an A. Not worth the stress

TERRIBLE. i hated him, you can't understand a single word he says. he wrote the text book, and thats even harder to understand. tests and quizzes are very hard. quizzes are about 65 questions and test are about 135 questions. its ridiculous. if you actually go to class your going to want to kill yourself within the first 5 minutes he's so boring.

He's the worst lecturer I've ever had in college. Disorganized, incomprehensible and almost impossible to reach. If you have any question, it's better to ask the TA. He can be the best professor for Italian Language but history is not his strength. HINT: Reading the book [written by himself] is more comprehensible than the lecture itself.

If you don't come to class a lot he'll lower your grade. He repeats himself and uses very advanced Italian vocabulary that most students don't understand. Just read the textbook and pay attention to what he says about the poetry. He is an easy grader.
