Starr is brilliant, so he has high expectations. If you try to B.S. a paper or essay, he will tear you to pieces. He teaches a very serious type of philo., so don't expect some 'what is the meaning of life' type of class. If you're not serious about philosophy, don't take his class just to fill an elective spot. He's not afraid of giving Ds & Fs

Professor Starr was absolutely amazing. I love him to death. The key thing with Logic no matter what professor you take is practice. It's a lot like math. If you don't know how to do 3rd grade math, don't expect to much out of Calculus. Logic clicks for some and doesn't for others. See a tutor if you need too! Overall, great professor!
