He was the most amazing instructor I ever had; that's saying quite a bit, as I went on to my master's and PhD. I still remember his feedback and his lectures. Tonight, one of my students told me I was the best instructor she had ever had. I told her about him, and that I was only trying to follow in his footsteps.

I took Dr. Shipman twenty years ago, and (let me tell you) I wish I had worked harder in his class--which I had to take again. I am now a professor myself and am ashamed of my performance in his class. He's a real professional.

He's a jacka**. Cocky and full of himslef. Hates RTV students. He DOES like pretty girls that sit up front with low cut blouses and suck ups. His opinion of you will definitely affect your grade. I made all B's on his tests (no homework) and still got a C.

If there is one JOUR prof to listen to, it's Shipman. He's the genuine article, not some broken-down copyeditor with a masters. He has what any great editor has -- a wealth of knowledge and even-handed scrutiny. He likes work ethic and ambition. He can help get you ready.

This guy is a real smart ass who thinks he's funny as hell! It really starts to ****you off when he constantly patronizes you in class. But, on the other hand, he does know his stuff. In the end, if you work hard, you'll walk away with something!

this guy was the only professor I ever had who was callous enough to deny a person with a severely broken leg the opportunities to take tests and pass his course without attending classes. I graduated a year late bc his class was only offered annually.
