The guy you want(ed) to have if you were to learn economics. He taught economics, but he also taught life lessons. No matter your political persuasion, you couldn't help but respect, admire, and agree with him!

Comment:
His classes are confusing because he goes on tangents frequently. He also emphasizes a lot of learning on your own. It's a tough class but its fun if you are into it, he has a very high drop-out rate but those are the kids who do not want to put in enough effort. It is a lot of reading and a lot of work, but I loved it.

While a very nice and sympathetic guy, he is a very very hard grader who is hard pressed to even give partial points. I failed every assignment in that class and while I know it is really my fault, I think it would have been so much more helpful if he weren't such a hard grader. Almost a 3rd of the class dropped :(

McMahon is a great guy. His class is interesting, because he doesn't talk about econ the whole time. Sometimes it was difficul, because hewent off on too many tangents. However, I learned to really appreciate the subject. Things to note: Don't take this class if you're liberal. Government haters are welcome. Don't expect an easy A.

Going to office hours will save your grade. At first, everyone in the class does terribly. Then, everything starts to make sense. You can't fall asleep in his class. Provides a solid Econ background for further studies in Business/Econ. He's the man. I wish he was my grandfather (not kidding).

Very helpful if you go to office hours. Tries his hardest to make EVERY student understand. Very conservative, don't take it if you can't take the heat. If you want to be an econ or business major he is a must.

McMahon is energetic and a bit irreverent, but he genuinely cares about his students (appearances to the contrary notwithstanding) and is one of the best profs at this college.

He makes you learn the material and he makes it interesting. He is very essentric and right wing, but anyone with half a brain can tell its all a show. He really brings his subject alive and makes you pay attention.

Very smart man who knows his stuff. He can be a little unorthodox in class at times, but it is all in good fun. He is a tough grader and it can be difficult to follow him in class, but he is extremely willing to help you in his office if you seek him out. Be willing to put time into his class if you

He tends to make very offensive comments in class. He may be interesting, but very tangential and often rude. Do not take this class if you have problems with having a professor all up in your personal space.
