Mary is great if you like to discover science and don't care about grades. she isn't exactly "hard" or intimidating, but be wary if you just want and "A" and you don't care about what she's teaching. she doesn't like control freaks. Make friends with her. Let go. She is one of the most down to earth, free-spirited professors.

It's very confusing when she starts to give an example on the board and realizes half way through that she did something wrong. When I'm trying to learn something new, that only makes it more difficult to learn.

she's a leftover hippie who's pretty ditzy at times, but in general she's very knowledgable. she's always helpful and fair, especially when she gives confusing assignments. i'd definitely take a class from her again. expect entertaining quotes: "i always thought chicken was a vegetable"
