Comment:

The point of online classes is flexibility. That's how they are marketed, flexible for the working adult. Mary is not flexible, at all. Make up's are now allowed, lots of group projects (If you have ANYTHING else going on in your life, good luck) Teacher does not care what is going on in your life, you turn it in on time or you get a zero.

Comment:

It is a lot of work for a 2 credit course but it isn't difficult. She sends a lot of reminders on the due dates every week that came in handy when taking this course at a faster pace. She also responds in a timely manner. There is a lot of group projects that you have to do and she will make everyone work for their grade, so no one has a free ride.

This class, out of many, has by far the most work due the most often for only 2 credit hours. Online learning should allow more flexibility, not less. Due dates up to 4 times a week, more often than her class students appear. Assignment info is skewed through the web. Figuring out the work is harder than completing it. NO late work, quite rude.

This teacher does a good job explaining criteria for papers and group projects. I LOVE that she will exclude someone from the group who does not post their initial post by the initial post deadline. She sends you an email every week explaining the weekly layout, including deadlines. She also sends out reminders on the day of the deadline.

Comment:

She had very clear expectations. I took the online version in eight weeks which I don't recommend. She gives a TON of assignments. Her assignments aren't difficult they are just time consuming. Her quizzes on the chapter were only over the vocabulary. She graded things quickly and responded back to emails the next day. Overall good teacher.

She requires so much work for the little credit given for the class. She is also very rude and offers very little respect. She is also a strict in regards to attendance. If you miss class and there is an assignment you get a 0, also additional points taken off in her "Commitment to Learning" grade.

You need to make sure you go to class every day. If not, you may miss a quiz and you have no chance to make it up. Mary is an interesting person, but her class is pretty random. There are tons of tedious projects that you have to complete. If you're taking it, it's probably mandatory. So pass the first time so you don't have to take it again.

Comment:

A lot of work for only two credit hours, and group projects are a pain. She groups you with people of similar work ethic, so get engaged and appear responsible early on so you don't get put with slackers. Assignments are graded based on word count and mindlessly following instructions. Don't waste your time trying too hard, it's not necessary.

I've taken 30+ online classes, this is by far the worst. She isn't understanding of a death in the family or illness, she will not accept late work. The material has nothing to do with what the class is supposed to be about. This is online course and she had due dates throughout the week, which really destroys the the point of online classes.

I spent 4 years in the medical field and let me tell you, this course feels like it has nothing to do with healthcare delivery or a medical workplace. It was an online course with multiple group projects which makes 0 sense to me. There's a lot of homework and quizzes on top of that. No test but a lot of papers. Take it in person but NOT ONLINE!!

Mary is an AWESOME teacher. She was very helpful at all times and always responded to her emails within 2 hours. She truly cares about her class and wants them to succeed. I wish there were more teachers like her.

Mary was an awesome teacher. Very helpful and always responded to emails quickly. She encourages her class at all times and was very helpful with making sure we understood what needed to be done and how to do it. I WISH all of my teachers were like her. She truly cares about her students.

This teacher was not very good at online classes. She requires a lot of work and gives deadlines throughout the week. More than half of the projects required were group work which is nearly impossible in an online course because of different schedules. Absolutely no late homework is accepted for any reason what so ever.

This teacher was extremely rude to me every time I asked a question. She responded to me like I was an idiot. And the last week she made up a new topic in our grades and said we would get points taken off if we didn't log in to class every other day, and she never mentioned this before at the beginning of the semester

Mary is great! If you show up to class, show interest in the material, and study for quizzes you cannot go wrong. Make sure you do the practice exercises online before the quizzes, or else you will not do well. Bottom line is if you try, you WILL get an A!

I really liked this class and the instructor. There is a lot of in class discussion and projects. As long as you do what she asks of you, read the book, and show up for class, this class is an easy A.
