I had Dr. Coomans for BIOL101HON Phage Laboratory; he grades the assignments tough at the end. He also does not tell you how to record your lab notebooks for the course, then at the end of the course he expects exsquisite lab notebooks to be turned in. Record your lab data the best that you can!

Dr. Coomans isn't as tough as everyone says he is. Most of the people who said he is, are the ones who don't care about their education and just want to be spoon fed the info. They think that college is going to be easy like high school, and if that is the case, they can go back home. If you're willing to work, he'll see that and work with you.

If you are willing to learn, he works with you. He seems like a tough one but if you give him a chance to help you, he is there to help you. His office is always open for students and is very helpful instructor. I would definitely recommend him to anyone.

He gives flash quizzes a lot, so attendance is a most. He reads right off the power point. And his exams are ok, but dont be the material from the study guide. He really can't teach but he is ok for my class. Don't take him for harder classes.

Dr. Coomans takes Botany very seriously. As such, the class is way harder than it should be. And in the lab, he was a silent observer. However, he is fair and you can do well in his class--but don't take this with any other difficult class.

This is absolutely one of the worst classes that i beilieve I've take. The only reason I signed up for his class was because it went perfect with my schedule. Dr. Coomans reads from the slides and thats it. The labs NEVER go along with the class, it's juss horrible. Almost NO ONE PASSES THE TEST. Take Dr. Goins if he is a choice.
