Comment:

A great professor! She was really nice and brought the class material into all the important social issues facing us today. Work was simple: 3 tests, 2 written papers. I'd recommend showing up to class because her lectures are more helpful for the tests than reading straight from the text. Only use the textbook for definitions. Such a good class!

Professor Mayo is absolutely amazing! She definitely knows the material, and is genuinely concerned about your education. She is a little wordy, but that's the point of being in college! She gives terrific notes, and if you need help or are not understanding something, she is always their to help.

GREAT PROFESSOR & CLASS! Relates lecture to real life thats how I did so well on tests w/o much studying. Book only used to clarify certain questions but she goes over every single topic before the tests with clarity. Signed Sheet attendance but you should want to go - interesting and easy to learn! 2-3 EASY papers, no homework,easy tests

She's a fair grader and very kind. Lectures are decent and she has no problem with laptops or cell phones in class. Study the text & make sure to come to the classes before tests, because she gives out review packets and goes over EVERYTHING in detail. You watch a couple movies and do a few short essays. Overall, easy class and sweet professor.

I took this class on-line. We reported to her in-person three times (two times for the exams). I really enjoyed this class, i.e., the chats. A lot of reading is involved...the "key" to passing. The exams are essay style...and tough; however, she's a fair grader! You will gain a lot of insight from the readings. I got my A!!!

Interesting topics but she talked the entire class which could get boring. Her notes aren't that good and if you want to do well on the exams you have to take your own notes from the textbook. She's very nice and intelligent, however, and if you ever need help with anything she's more than happy to assist the students.

Dr. Mayo is the nicest lady. Sociology of the community was informative and useful. Granted, her essay exams are not easy. But, she is a fair grader. participate, do the work, write like a college student, not a highschool student and you'll do well.

I didn't like this class at all. She gives you a study guide with about 50 things on it and half are not in your notes. She puts you to sleep too. I wouldn't take her.

this class has its ups n downs. it is a very interesting class n yes she talks the whole time but makes it interesting. her notes are good but u should take notes of ur own from the book each week. she only gives 3 test but she gives u study guides for them. its a lot of material to study n memerization. but if u memerize it all youll do fine

she does NOT give makeups and she only gives 3 exams and 1 paper so dont miss anything. shes not strict with attendence but she will take notice if you skip all the time. hands out a study guide but you really need to study tons of terms thoroughly. her notes are vague but if you take your own notes your good, shes nice but wont give extra credit
