Comment:
This professor is first off hard to understand because of his accent. This class is very difficult, you must read the textbook and study!! The only thing he gives you is a formula sheet for exams. Only three exams, No multiple choice, NO T/F, ALL written. Goodluck!

I am doing Masters in Finance, firstly while I started it was difficult for me to cope up with his style. He is kind of traditional and the lectures does not help that much. Exam questions are average, however his marking is critical, it depends on his mood. Overall it was not a pleasant course, learnt almost nothing.

Brilliant professor w great class structure. The tests are tough, tend to be conceptual, & are almost entirely essay based. The focus is on broad theory. This means you'll spend less time memorizing formulas & more time solidifying key concepts. There's a bit of an accent, but does his best to be clear. I would recommend this Prof hands down.

More than confusing when he tries to explain material. Notes unchanged from semester to semester. No communication with students. When trying to explain something easy, Mazhar we go into confusing explanation leaving everyone behind without a clue.

Professor Siddiqi covers the material very thoroughly and is genuinely passionate about teaching and the subject. The class is pretty tough with free response exams, and while attendance is optional, you pretty much have to go to class and do the homework problems to pass. Solid course

Professor is clearly a smart guy and pretty cool overall, however he easily gets lost in the small details of problems and will over-explain them rather than focus on the big picture. Class is very boring because of this. Will often show you a proof for a problem even though he says it won't be on the test. Tests are difficult.

This guys is hard to understand. But he is willing to help you and encourages questions. Bad idea to take Finance in the summer though. Class is very fast paced. Covered like 5-6 chapters in a week. Tests were pretty difficult and unclear. I would advise another prof or not to take this class in the summer!

I took FINA 3770 during the summer and the class was based off 3 tests. Homework is assigned, but not due. Dr. Siddiqi is very passionate about teaching (and finance) and he will discuss the material at any depth you like (in his office-which he has good office hours and is actually there). Very good professor

This is my 3rd time to take class because it's so hard to me. Finally going to pass with a C with this professor! BUT exams are much harder than Prof. MacDonald or Prof. Ren because there's no multiple choice at all. Only 5 problems (with about 5 parts each) and each part builds so if you don't know the 1st part you're screwed. But no quizzes!

I have taken two classes with Dr.Siddiqi. He is one of the best professors I ever had. He really knows his material and he explains it well. However, his hand writing is not clear. Exams are intermediate in difficulty...I recommend this professor.

Expects hard work, has very clear and concise material. Do not have to purchase book for this class, his handouts cover all material for exams. But homework is a must so the book is recommended. Grades are based entirely on exams.
