Dr. Berg is hilarious. I loved going to his class every day (even at 8 am). He does assign some strangely challenging homework problems and whatever you do do not let your phone ring in class. Altogether though great teacher and entertaining and cares a lot about students.

I never liked his teaching style. I took this class last semester and struggled despite my diligent studying. He has bad handwriting, and his proofs can be hard to follow. I also don't like how he thinks you should just give up on math or CS if you struggle in his class. One class doesn't define a major, so don't listen to that.

You have to work to earn your grade. As long as you stay on top of your homework the tests will be easy. He's really caring and tells jokes during the lecture, would definitely take him again!

Dr. Berg was very intimidating at first, but after his character emerged, he quickly became one of my favorite people in the world. If you want an easy class, this is not the class for you. Be prepared to work your tail off and experience some of the hardest math you ever have. Dr. Berg has a passion for math and he has inspired me in many ways.

Dr. Berg is a fantastic teacher for theoretical math classes. He is by far my most beloved teacher and I could see myself going to him for help and guidance both within and without the topic of math even beyond my college years. A truly respectable man that will always give you a fair chance in his classes.

Such a fun class to be in! He always blocked the board and lectured super quickly but that didn't matter. He is super helpful in office hours and is such a fun guy. The class was always entertaining and he loved being in class with us. He grades the homework and the tests were challenging but I learned a lot. Take him!

No lie, Dr. Berg is my favorite teacher. I looked forward to class. Not only did he keep it light with jokes, he answered any questions we had, and solicited more. I think most people just have a problem with the subject matter, rather than him as a teacher. This class is an attainable challenge.

THIS CLASS WAS THE HARDEST THING I HAVE EVER ENDURED IN MY LIFE. If you have Berg for Proofs, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE seek help from every smart math kid, YouTube, Office Hours, anywhere, because you will need it. Berg is not an easy teacher. All these other cats talking about how great the class was are full of it.

Entertaining teacher, but make no mistake this is a very challenging class. He moves very quickly through the material, but he is a very good teacher. The tests are difficult but he is fair with his grading. Be prepared to earn a grade. Loved him as a teacher.

It's a math class, but Berg is able to make it much more action-packed compared to the usual, boring professors. He is not all fun and games, but he is definitely an entertaining professor in a field that does not usually place fun in the same room as the material. You'll need to study, and homework is constant. Worth it though.

He is very funny and I love being in his class. He is a very smart prof. It is a hard course. The exams and the final was hard but he is very fair grading and very helpful. We only use the book to do the HW.

Lectures are REALLY confusing. Talks really fast and doesn't give you time to understand the examples on the board. Never gives full credit on homework because he grades on correctness. Grade is based on some homework, a midterm and final. Although he says the tests were easy...I beg to differ.

I would def suggest him to non-math majors. It takes a while to get used to his bad writing and confusing lectures, but he essentially explains concepts over and over again to make sure everybody understands. there were only 2 exams, a little weekly homework, and a final. Exams are much like the example problems done in class.

Note to non-math majors: If math is not your thing and you can't deal with arrogance than stay away from Berg. He makes things harder than they have to be and was not very helpful in office hours.Made me feel like I was wasting his time. Other than that, two tests, one killer final, and homework every week.

great teacher, much better then other calc teachers (took class 2) really clear, makes sure u know material, goes slowly in class, tests are straight forward...first day of class he said "i know ur all business majors and no one wants to be here" so he caters to that and teaches what you need to know at a pace that is great for non math majors
