Comment:
Took an online course with Edelstein, therefore I cannot judge him on a personal level. However, his outlines and directions for the three seperate modules in this particular course were extremely confusing. His assignments make little to no sense and whenever you ask for assistance, his directions are even more confusing. Essays LONG! DO NOT TAKE.

He is the only professor that teaches this senior capstone courses. Very little guidance, however, you will become a better writer. Wish would focus more on data collection and methods of a project. I wish he would teach more because he has a lot to share. He does care about his students, but you have to seek it out.

Does not teach then criticizes you harshly for not knowing what you're doing. Lectures have nothing to do with what you are graded on. The book I had to buy was outdated and useless. Gives directions then changes the directions later on. His Moodle is disorganized and confusing. Full of himself.

Only prof at ramapo that helps you become a better writer. Takes the time to give individual feedback. Expects a lot though. The class is overwhelming with the sheer workload. He is really helpful once you have started writing but not very helpful with explaining how to do the big project.

The class isn't hard it just depends how you write, my group all wrote about similar things and we all talked about it in our writing of the summaries in the same way yet we all got different grades. The final paper means everything but he unfairly graded them and I was lucky to end up with a B, others were not so lucky with his unfair grading.

The class uses his book and 3 others. There is so much unnecessary work for this class, and you have one project that is worth pretty much your whole grade so the effort of the other work is pointless. I didn't read a single book and did all the assignments but you need to get the books to write quotes so you don't 'plagiarize'. DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!!

I am a straight A student and received a C+ in his class. I got an A on every assignment except 1. He gave me a 0 on a paper that didn't have enough citations and threatened to report me for plagiarizing. He said he would regrade the paper after I added the citations but he never did. He posted my final grade before I could say anything.

Took him for an online course and basically the whole course was a group project and a bunch of busywork assignments broken down into modules he had laid out since the first day of the semester. He graded 5 out of 25 of my assignments all year long, even when I asked for grades. Very inconsistent and forgetful with due dates and requirements.

I never ever rate any professors but this guy. He is the worst professor at this school. He's considered a joke to the upper level staff. I've witnessed it. He thinks that he's a God sent from heaven to talk about himself and talk down to students that don't know the answers. It's sad that you must take him for senior classes. I wish I never had to

One of the worst classes I've ever taken. Very little guidance. Way too many assignments per "module." Due dates were different depending on where you looked. We had to work together in a group the entire semester which was extremely frustrating because it was difficult to find a time to meet. He also never graded a majority of my assignments.

This online class is so confusing. I always have some homework to do. There is also a group project which makes no sense, but it is pretty annoying. A lot of reading and moodle posts. This prof is a nice guy but I do not recommend taking an online class of his.

Dr. Edelstein's class can often be hard to follow. He is not incredibly organized and can make you second guess your academic status in his class. With that being said, he does care about his students. A lot. If you go to him about anything he will do anything and everything in his power to help. He is a good guy overall.

He loves himself. Just ask him how great he is. There is not one class that passes without some snide comment. For someone who always has something to say, he doesn't understand issues of time management. This proves quite frustrating when trying to get 34 people to work together. Also don't expect to get any grades until the end of the sem.

This class is pretty easy, but it requires work. He combined his class with Wayne Hayes. It's a lot of boring lectures. Not enough work to weigh out bad grades. No tests, but TWO very big 8-page papers.

Mike is a super bright individual. He co-taught class with Wayne Hayes. Between the two I recommend Wayne. Assignments are a piece of cake. Just engage him in conversation so he remembers you and you will do well

He was a nice guy, if you were to go get coffee with him. But he was not a good teacher. Held him self high for his accomplishments and often let that over power his classes. Did not learn much from him. I got a B with little reading...2 papers & 2 small projects. Id recommend Hayes for World Sust. If it is between the two.

Took him for World Sustainability. His assignments were super easy. He taught you everything you needed to know and he really cared about what he was teaching. It is very easy to get an A. The class can be boring if you're not that interested in it, but it is an easy A.
